1. With all the talk of the next leg of the 360 tour and the status of the new album up in the air, I wondered what everyone's thoughts are on U2 releasing another live album/new tracks hybrid a la Rattle And Hum? I think it would be a very cool idea. We could get some new songs as well as some of the highlights of the tour. Working with the Rattle And Hum tracklist I came up with this:

    1. Kingdom Of Your Love (Full Version)
    2. Breathe (Live)
    3. Ultraviolet (Light My Way) (Live)
    4. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Remix) (Live)
    5. Get On Your Boots (Live) (this way we can get the cool entrance and the "newer" version)
    6. Momoment Of Surrender (Live)
    7. No Line On The Horizon (Live)
    8. Magnificent (Live)
    9. Winter (Brothers Version)
    10. Every Breaking Wave?
    11. Your Blue Room (Live or Studio... so long as it's the new version with Shinead O'Connor & the new lyrics)
    12. New Song
    13. New Song
    14. New Song
    15. New Song

I think this would be a perfect release. The new songs could be left-over tracks from No Line, or a few of the ones the guys have been working on as of late.

I think I'd call it something like U2: Let Me In The Sound
  2. Interesting idea! Never thought of that to be honest! I'd actually like to see something like this happen as opposed to a new cd that just follows NLOTH's formula, it would make more sense. Live songs + Leftover and new songs.

One suggestion, change the Winter version to the original version and Bingo you got it.

I just thought the Brothers version would make the most sense since it was "released" for the movie and is Oscar nominated.

Also, in keeping with the way Rattle And Hum is laid out, maybe switch out "Magnificent" and "No Line On The Horizon" for classic tracks like "Where The Streets Have No Name" and something from this decade. "Beautiful Day" or "Vertigo"?

But yeah. I would be insanely happy with a release like this before the tour. What better way to get us pumped for shows?

I would keep the new stuff...otherwise, it would be TOO similar to Rattle and Hum, y'know? I think in order for the idea to be executed properly, they would have to revolutionize the R&H idea, not repeat parts of it. I think using 2000-2010 songs would be the surefire way to go in replicating something like that. And I love the idea.

Anything that's a potential vehicle for Mercy to be released officially. (Sorry. You can kick me off the forums now ) It could be the new R&H's "All I Want is You"!!!

I was totally thinking of throwing Mercy on there too! And I agree with keeping the new songs, BUT... then it's almost too much like NLOTH, and people might like/feel more inclined to buy the album if something like Streets and Beautiful Day/Vertigo were on it. (Plus I'd love to get a great version of Beautiful Day with the In God's Country snippet, and a Vertigo with that crazy alarm and maybe the "I Know It's Only Rock And Roll" snippet added).

I agree with you once you've put it that way. I think people would be more inclined to hear perhaps the One/Amazing Grace/Streets combo tucked into the album. Think of it this way...(can't see your original tracklist right now- but totally didn't have a problem with it- this is just whats coming to mind)

R&H=17 tracks if I recall correctly.

    1. Kingdom of Your Love
    2. Breathe (Live)
    3. Get On Your Boots (Live)
    4. No Line on the Horizon (Live)
    5. Magnificent (Live)
    6. NEW SONG
    7. Winter
    8. NEW SONG
    9. Beautiful Day (Live)
    10. Vertigo (Live)
    11. Every Breaking Wave
    12. One (Live)
    13. Amazing Grace (Live)
    14. Where the Streets Have No Name (Live).
    15. Ultraviolet (Light My Way) (Live)
    16. Moment of Surrender (Live)
    17. Mercy

I think the opening quad of the live show MUST be kept. I see it as essential to the 360° tour, the way Elevation/BD/Until... was essential to Elevation Tour, and the ZooTV opening 5 never changed, etc.

Excellent list! But I think Crazy Tonight HAS to be there. As well as I think I'd switch out One with Your Blue Room. Then It's like getting a new song (since it is a newer version).
  8. Interesting idea. Could work very well. Certainly NLOTH, Boots and Breathe were improved live. A proper recording of UV would be amazing too.

Not sure they want to tread anywhere near R&H again though....

Well I mean there doesn't have to be a movie. It could even be released with the DVD for the concert.
  10. As one I'd like to have, it would go like this for a fan-club release.

    1. Fez - Being Born (Studio Recording) / Kingdom Of Your Love (Studio Recording)
    2. Breathe (Live)
    3. Velvet Hours (New Song)
    4. Your Blue Room (Live)
    5. The Unforgettable Fire (Live)
    6. I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Live)
    7. Every Breaking Wave (New Song)
    8. Anybody Is A Star (New Song)
    9. Band Q&A (Studio / Backstage)
    10. Where The Streets Have No Name (Live)
    11. Ultra Violet (Light My Way) (Live)
    12. If I Could Live My Life Again (New Song)
    13. The Pilgrim And His Lack Of Progress (New Song)
    14. Anybody Is A Star (New Song)
    15. Moment Of Surrender (Live)
    16. Thank You For The Day (New Song)

Most of those haven't been on an official live release yet - the only one I can see that has would be The Unforgettable Fire and Streets.

BTW; all come from the NLOTH and Bono's writing sessions. I'd call it...Moments And Surrenders.
  11. Does anyone have the audio for the Rose Bowl show? I'm looking to jind of make this CD for myself (with what new tracks I have... I wish that some of the other unused songs had leaked!!). Or does anyone know where I can find the tracks?

Check the "shows" section on this site. Some decent recordings but not up to the standard of say the Wembley or Sheffield shows.
