    Make yourself sound

    Noise sleeper
Don't infiltrate the peace around you
Desecrate the life that sounds like
Everything you've ever known to be true....
    Let the static rearrange you

This, like your last piece sounds incredible. It's ZOO-esque, but from a different point of view almost. You quite properly italicized the last line, that one is my favorite (so far). I can't wait to see the rest, best of luck with it! (not that you need it, but, you know)
  2. Thanks for the reassurance Nick! We should just live by each other so we can collaborate all the time I can't wait to hear some demos from you too!

No problem! If only it were that easy lol. We would probably have a few albums written in the span of twenty minutes.

This is something that I finished a few hours ago:

    Paintings Of The New World

Going up, has left me hear
    New thoughts, ring new voice
All our phones, couldn’t connect us now

    What, would truth find out?
We won’t, will we? Do it again
But what if I, get down again
To face, new prospect’s evil eye

    Going up, hearts untwined
    Giving hope, to prospect’s whine
Wailing out, the new eyes shine
    Giving hope, to prospect’s time

What do we, think up now?
Ways to end, the world for now?
Facts of all, the lessons learned
    Waste away, space running out

Could it all, make sense again?
Or have we just, made it to bend?
Time and space, have made a mense

    Going up, hearts untwined
    Giving hope, to prospect’s whine
Wailing out, the new eyes shine
    Giving hope, to prospect’s time

    Eloquence, style and grace
What, is new? Reset of pace?
Blue begins, to fade to black
But it’s okay, liquor and tack
    Giving hope, to prospect’s time

It was inspired by a little guitar melody that I came up with...

    B -----------11--------11-------11---------11----------11-----------11-----------11-----------11----------
    G ------10---------10-------10---------10----------7--------------7-----------7------------7-------------
    D --8------------8---------8----------8----------10-------------10---------7------------7---------------
  4. Picked up my guitar and instantly started to play that tab- it's such a great line, I need to start writing more music.

Most of my demos for now will be more acoustic-oriented...my band is focusing too much on covers to play parties every weekend to work on my original stuff, so ill have to work on the whole songs myself using drum machines and whatnot....NoiseSleeper will definitely be electric though, there's no avoiding the electronics behind it

Writing music for "Close Encounters" now...hopefully a demo tomorrow/Tuesday night? Probably without sampled quotes, still gotta rip those and mess with some audio effects to throw them into the mix. We'll see
  5. Like the look of the stuff everyone's throwing out here keep it up. I'm having a big dry patch at the moment, not really coming up or working on anything. Will try and put a few acoustic things out if I get the chance this coming week. Most annoying thing is I've had a couple of dreams where I've thought up some quite frankly uber stuff, but I wake up and can barely remember it

Always happens to me as I'm falling asleep; I'll have a killer lyric in my head set to a cool melody, and I'll dose off...wake up, can't remember a damn thing
  7. Alright, I jumped the gun a little- couldn't wait any longer to try this out. This is a rough, rough, rough demo of the music for "Close Encounters", only up through the first chorus or so- no vocals, and it's all acoustic. I just had to get this out, and it'll give a GREAT idea for how the beginning will sound- I'm SO happy about the way it worked out on Sony's ACID Studio. The guitar is all first-take material, but you'll at least get a general idea. I'm so excited to continue with this.

Thanks! Can't wait to hear it!

Yeah, we want to start to do a few acoustic demos because the music drowns out the mic whenever I sing. However, if we can purchase a better mic speaker, we could avoid that. Which is what I'm hoping for. Sense you'll only be with them for a couple of months, that might be best actually. But, in any case, I wish you the best of luck and I can't wait to hear it. For the electronics, I would suggest investing in a keyboard or renting one to do some recordings. Believe me, your mind will be blown, even with a "cheap" keyboard. I know that it may be a bit expensive to just go out and buy, as I'm suggesting, but... you get the picture.

Wonderful! I'm predicting some reverb and vibrato? I can't wait to hear it, best of luck!

Thanks! Don't worry about it, eventually you'll just get an idea and the rest will come. I've found that I just have to "unlock" something. That used to happen to me, but now I've learned to actually get up and work on them. I just figure out exactly what it is, then record it using the voice recorder on my phone. Unfortunately, that leads to myself having to get up another five times because I'll get more ideas lol...

Matt, that sounded really good, especially considering that it was so ahead of "schedule." The intro was great, very mysterious sounding. The chords were a lot lighter than I expected. I had an idea of what it could be, but you completely flipped that on it's head. I can't wait to see what you do next.
  10. It's going to be a hot lazy day tomorrow. Perfect weather for staying inside with the a/c on and figuring out some recording software. I'll try to see what I can put up tomorrow. I'm thinking of doing "Utopia," but adding a drum loop with my Digitech RP250 since Josh won't be here. I have a feeling that once I figure it all out, I'll record just about everything that I can lol...

Wow Matt that was so cool if I could write something half as good as that I'd be happy. Wasn't too sure what to expect when u heard the beginning but then this lovely guitar came in and was brilliant. A cello would sound gorgeous under those chords btw
