1. Yeah I am sure a marshal has a better grasp of the current grip and tire situation than the driver.

I am in favour for the following sign.

  2. According to Sky the yellow flag even with the red/yellow means no overtaking.

But they think they didnt punish him because Kobayashi pitted immediately so Vettel had no time to give it back.

All in all a bit lucky for Vettel, but it wouldve been very harsh if he lost the WC because of it.
  3. It would have been so funny
  4. I think a punishment at the time was warranted, but now not anymore. The pie has been divided and devoured.
  5. Sky Sports noticed it. Vettel passed Kobayashi under a yellow flag which is frustrating. He would've got a 10 second stop-go penalty for it and then possibly would have lost the world championship.

I'm not being biased at all but he didn't deserve the championship one bit. He's been unbelievably lucky.
  6. Well I think Alonso deserved it more. But Vettel is a good driver, no sense in denying that. Alonso's biggest problem was just the car this year. Imho by far the best driver on the field. But you cannot beat Newy with a Yugo.

Will be interesting to see which team comes best out of the winter. A team like Ferrari cant screw up another year like this. And Mercedes cant sell their brand using this years crap car.
  7. I agree with that entirely.

Wow, if it's true then there will be a big, long polemic about it. Rules are rules and should be obeyed, whether the situation is critical or not. Many pilots have lost points or podiums because of sanctions after the races, so this should not be an exception. So sad that they're not punishing him, rules are rules.

Alonso: "Es la primera vez que he puesto a todo el mundo de acuerdo, a pilotos, a expilotos, de Francia, de Inglaterra, de Alemania, de todos lados... en que he sido el mejor del campeonato. Esa sensación es muy buena"

"It's the first time that I've got everyone (pilots, ex-pilots, French, English, German, etc) aggreeing with the fact that I've been the best driver of the championship. This is a great feeling."

A bit self-indulgent, but honest and true after all.
  9. well 20 races just 3 points of difference with a huge difference in cars .... that difference made also by the fact Alonso hit by someone else -> out of the race, Vettel --> who knows how still in the race

By the letter of the book it should be a punishment, but afterwards its though to. Normally Vettel wouldve been warned over the radio to give the position back, but now that was mute since Koba went straight to the pit. Leaving Vettel with barely any gain anyway.
  11. There's people saying that it was a yellow and orange flag - meaning slippery conditions - but it wasn't. A yellow and orange flag is waved by marshalls, the screen projects yellow, green, red, blue and white flags.

Even though Alonso was taken out twice by a Lotus, that ruined his championship chances. But Vettel was struck twice by an alternator failure. So Vettel could've won the title in Austin if those two hadn't happened. If Alonso didn't get taken out in those two races and Vettel was hampered by those failures, Alonso probably would've won it in Austin, or even Interlagos. Vettel was extremely lucky this season, but did have a fair share of unluckiness.
  12. It was clearly yellow in the next turn (before the overtake). Anyway we can discuss this till the next WC but it wont change a thing
