Hope Holland delivers tomorrow though Any Japanese members here ?

    Hup, Holland, hup!
  2. I can't see why you people are mad. The fault that led to the last US goal was not legitimate.
I would like to see a "small" tem win, like the USA, but it would not be nice if they do it "ilegally".
Just remember France and Ireland. Not nice. But they will not go very far anyway.

I really can't speak to the specifics because I'm still at work and haven't gotten to watch it yet, but here's my argument: Referees miss calls all the time. And maybe they shouldn't have called the foul on Slovenia that set up Donovan's kick... But it's not like they awarded a goal to the US automatically because of it. The US still had to do the work to score the goal and they did. It was then taken away from them on a phantom call. Even in the case of a foul inside the box, the opposing team still has a chance to stop the PK. But here, the US did the work and had it stripped away.

Again, I probably shouldn't even talk since I haven't gotten to watch the clip...Just my two cents.
  4. No I completely agree. Makes sense even though you didn't see the game yet. ha. This is just another reason (ireland vs france) that I think FIFA needs to put in instant replays for goals.

And along with that, the refs should have to explain calls, not leave players wondering if it was offsides or a (phantom) foul.

EDIT: And that's just karma coming back and biting France in the ass.....let's hope it works out for us on Wednesday!

  6. Sincerely not. I really hope that they lose big. I have lost simpathy for the team after the ridiculous match at the 1998 finals. I don't think that those guys represent the nation decently. They are lazy and selfish, and I mean selfish in the game.
If I were you I would be proud of the USA team, like you probably are. They play an honest game, and really fight for the victory. Brazilians footballers can learn a lot from them.
About the game today, I see the point of you people. Mistakes are always made the referees, and this time it was unfortunate for your team.

  7. Well. England. Good lord. I didn't think it could get as dire as things did under McClaren, or the last match under Keegan, but wow, isn't it nice to be proved wrong! lol. Well played Algeria, solid and competitive and we didn't have a bloody clue how to break them down. I thought Switzerland did a job on Spain, but bar the fact we didn't actually lose, we got nobbled by the Desert Foxes. I seriously fear for us against Slovenia, although (no offence to the good American folk on this forum) I wish the US hadn't grabbed the match by the balls - something we could have done with - and pulled off that great comeback. The Germans were bloody unlucky against Serbia re. Klose's red card - that referee was shocking. However, Serbia did what they had to do, you have to deal with things as they happen and the Serbs did, so fair play to them. On a final note, I was so chuffed for Greece to get the win against Nigeria - I like Nigeria, but Greece are a favourite team of mine (odd story which I won't go into) and it was nice to see them make their own bit of history with their first points/goals in the World Cup. Here's hoping they do a number on Argentina and make it into the knockout rounds, unlike England with the way things are going at the moment...

    Peace and love guys!

PS - guess who's top of the U2start fantasy league at the moment?
  8. Australia v Ghana tonight.

    C'mon fellas. Lets make amends!

England and USA are the two teams i root for in international competition. I was pretty disgusted by 3 halves of football i saw between the two of them today. England was just so lost out there, what in God's name was Gerrard doing wide open in the box trying to thread a pass through to nobody?? So many great players out there and they looked clueless. I already iterated my thoughts about the USA so I won't even get into that....

Bright Side remains though, a win by each and England and USA advance which is what i have hoped for all along. Seems a bit unlikely the way the three lions are currently playing though

  10. I'm not even going to get into detail about my feelings for Wayne Rooney at the moment, but i'm surprised he can hear the fans booing him because i haven't seen him show up to South Africa yet. What a disgrace
