1. I love the Dutch language.

  2. Then you are one of the few German language gives the Dutch language a bad name, since everyone thinks they are the same Anyway waaaay offtopic.

For me the only new song is Glastonbury, Stingray is a nice instrumental (not a song imo) and the others are just drabbles imo. Doesnt mean i have faith they can be great songs some day
  3. 'a few distractions along the way' that makes sense. theres a saying that goes "your a pocket full of sunshine" i duno if this is only an english saying, but i think the lyric in the song wud be pocket because of this

You're still talking out of your arse and actually end up contradicting yourself in that post , which is quite amusing.

They may well have laid down a mastered version of EBW as it was heard by Q Magazine and others.

But they didn't release it and have obviously decided to re-visit it. Ergo, it is a work in progress. Given that arrangements of released tracks can still be drastically re-worked for live performance, they too are still works in progress.

The Every Breaking Wave that the vast majority of the public have heard is a work in progress. End of.

PS Sergio - I know, and yes, I had the same shivers as well

I am simply saying that there was a finished version of EBW - you yourself have agreed with this.
I take issue with the fact that U2.com is presenting EBW as a new tune which is only in acoustic form.

I highly doubt (though it is possible) that they've throw out all the layers of synth etc reportedly on the 'finished' track and started from scratch again but it is far more likely that they're just playing it in acoustic form for the moment, playing their new songs live seems to have been quite a spontaneous decision so they likely haven't had time to work with all the backing tracks required to replicate the studio version.

This is why the Edge's guitar is so boring, he's just playing very basic arpeggiated chords and not an actual guitar line, like he would in the studio version. I highly doubt that

U2.com has been known to be reporting information incorrectly before so it is quite possible, that the writer of that piece don't know the history of the song and are assuming it to be acoustic work in progress.

Yes noticed that too, perhaps they shortened it towards the end of recording

    Yea, it's definitely not bucket.

This could go on for ever. I agree with your last 3 paragraphs. Let's leave it at that.
  6. I have a feeling EBW is gonna be a killer song in its full form, maybe a mix of COBL with Electrical Storm??
  7. Yeah, EBW is just an acoustic version. That song was finished and ready to be released with NLOTH and pulled at the last minute.

Glastonbury doesn't strike me as a B-side, as a number of people have been saying. It's a catchy, straight-up rock 'n' roll single, like Elevation, Vertigo, All Because of You, or GOYB.

North Star seems to me to have the most potential if it is polished up and finished and Bono doesn't use the phrase "space cowboy."

  8. Oh I actually don't mind the "space cowboy" line, it suits the song which is in the HTDAAB vein of songwriting and sounds a bit like a country song. It's not like Streets or something where such a line would be out of place.
