  2. Yep ~50% - impressive. And even more impressive result. Always good to see extremists win. So glad the people there are free now. Also good news from the new free Libya: sharia as basis for new legislation.

    Their first election ever, and they almost beat the U.S. in voter turnout.
  4. See, that's the problem. No matter if it's the bible, quran or the book of Moe. I find it dangerous if a constitution is based on religion (not to mention that Afghanistan was bombed to stone age because of "sharia" used there). There's a chance missed to get a secular state and to make a cut from the evil Ghaddaffi.

    I for one find ~50% pretty disappointing for a "first election", but that's up for discussion I guess.
  5. I agree with you on that religion shouldn't be the basis for a constitution, was just pointing out that we're just as bad.
  6. Eehhh no, Holland's constitution is not based on the bible at all. And I have no reason to believe all other western countries are different in this.
  7. Yes there are a few laws with Christianity in mind (shops are not allowed to be open on every sunday in a year (12 per year, unless dispensation)). And is there a law that protects the sunday morning against huge festivities. Note that both these laws are not Christian per se, but can also be explained that a quiet sunday morning is a religion on it self

    To pay off the debt completely something truly radical would have to change, brutally radical. It's always mystery to me how people think that the system works and yet everyone is in debt. I mean - everyone. It just doesn't work. And, Aaron, please, stop with this commie shit, we get it.
