1. I agree with you on that religion shouldn't be the basis for a constitution, was just pointing out that we're just as bad.
  2. Eehhh no, Holland's constitution is not based on the bible at all. And I have no reason to believe all other western countries are different in this.
  3. Yes there are a few laws with Christianity in mind (shops are not allowed to be open on every sunday in a year (12 per year, unless dispensation)). And is there a law that protects the sunday morning against huge festivities. Note that both these laws are not Christian per se, but can also be explained that a quiet sunday morning is a religion on it self
  4. I'm sure at least your law is based on the commandments.
  5. See. We're based on our religion, it's shouldn't be so alien to us that they do the same.
  6. No its not based on the commandments. Commandments are based on ethics. Even atheists avoid slaughtering people

I'll say what I want, when i want, and I could care less what you want.
  8. And Holland only implements 5 out of 10 commandments
  9. So I guess they were hardly an inspiration at all.

  10. In all fairness I think that some of the commandments everyone should be able to get behind.

We still have our religion all around us.

  12. Highly debatable. Even if one accepts that the constitutions of the western world are based on christianity, there's a huge difference between those constitutions and a constitution that follows the sharia -even in a moderate form.
