Don't bother, he can't and won't understand it. The fact is: no matter what is it: democracy, social democracy or anything else - it will be shit if it's led by bad, incompetent people.

23 years ago Croatia was still part of socialistic Yugoslavia and it had incredibly good industry. If you lost the job, you could find another in few hours.

Today our industry is ruined, and we have unemployment rate of 20%.

Does that mean that socialism is better than democracy? No. It just means that shitty people will ruin every system, no matter what.

Well, I think a democracy with the right amount of socialism is the way to go. They, socialism is what got the US up and running after the Wall Street crash. There are some vital things that the state should protect.

I see Yugoslavia as one of the better dictatorships... The communist way of getting everyone a job isn't something I like though.

Croatia is still a very young democracy. I hope you will mature.
