Cmon its not a literal interpretation- but Aaron does have a point, the entire "We are all in this together" statement can be taken a few different ways that makes the statement not really an effective party/platform label.
Democrat here, and I even think the party needs some work. Clinton's speech was pretty much the shit though. I seriously don't know how that can be argued.

I think the main reason for them usually being more onto the right is because the right wing give way more material for a comedy news show.
