Cmon its not a literal interpretation- but Aaron does have a point, the entire "We are all in this together" statement can be taken a few different ways that makes the statement not really an effective party/platform label.

Democrat here, and I even think the party needs some work. Clinton's speech was pretty much the shit though. I seriously don't know how that can be argued.

Well, it could probably be argued that you are in it together if you live in the same country and want to do something with the country.

I think "we're all in this together" and "we all belong to the government" are very different statements.

Worth noting recently they have been being much more critical of the left than they have been in the past.

And if we want to be fair, MSNBC choose to run commercials almost every time anyone who was a minority spoke at the RNC.

Didn't see the vid on the first day? it clearly stated at one point "Gov is the one thing we all belong to." Thing is in American, the gov don't own us. we own the gov.

It is the opinion of this socially liberal Republican, that both conventions were for the purpose of shoreing up the base, since neither did a good job of apealing to the middle.

Well, when it's the Dems having convention that's of course where a comedy news show will get its comedy

I think the main reason for them usually being more onto the right is because the right wing give way more material for a comedy news show.

That and there quite oviously biased too the left.

Worth noting that Jay Leno said awhile back one of the reasons he prefers to go after the right is, that he finds they have a better sense of humor.

Taking from a facebook group I frequent.

I’m about to tell you another story. This one should leave an imprint upon everyone that reads it! This represents the brutality, uncaring, BS that is Socialism and the liberals that support it.
I’ve gotten so many posts about Sweden and
how their “New” Socialism is “working’.
Well, it’s “working” alright and is now getting worst. (as always)

Domenic Johansson, was a happy, healthy, 7-year-old boy, before being abducted, from his parents Christer and Annie Johansson in 2009, by Socialist Swedish authorities as they sat on a plane waiting on a flight to India.
The reason?
Domenic was being home schooled (just for a couple months before the family was to leave) and not in their ’Public school system”.
(Sweden’s Socialist Ministry of Education had given them permission, ( how nice of them) and local officials had levied steep fines, on the family , for doing so.)
But after 3 long years, Domenic is still being kept from his parents !
"They took Domenic from the plane," Christer recalled.
"I have no clue what went on,"
Annie added. "There was just a stampede. My child had no clue, and I have no clue still what’s going on.”
“I can just hear the screams of my child all the time."
Officials said Domenic was "at risk," because he was shy, had cavities and was too affectionate with other children, greeting his friends with a hug and kiss on the cheek.
They called this "deviant behavior."
( I can’t hardly even write this without getting “Pissed off!!)
The Socialists allowed Domenic’s parents a 1 hour “Visitation” every 5 weeks !
( how’s that for redistribution)
So, in Nov. 2010, Christer took his son home, without permission.
The result?
Police raided their home with guns and dogs and retook Domenic !
Since then, Nov. 2010, his parents have had NO contact !
“not a phone call, not one. We don’t know how he is. We don’t know anything,"
Like all children, Domenic loved his mommy and daddy unconditionally, now,
he no longer wants to see his parents !
Christer said, thanks to the state, his own son has been:
"broken into a million pieces."
Roger Kiska, an Alliance Defense Fund attorney based in Europe said :
“What you have here is a Socialist country trying to create a cookie cutter kid,”
"How can you live without your children?" Annie asked.
"It’s devastated our life, this has in fact, devastated everything in our life."

Update:
“A Swedish home schooling couple may shortly be reunited with their son after a prolonged separation, after a Swedish court has judged that the couple did not act irresponsibly by removing their children from the public school system.”
