  3. Yeah, I was like 'oh, oh' and Bono and Larry started looking at Edge but he slipped it on incredibly quickly and few people realised what had happened.

    I was one of the people waving to Dallas when the stage was being prepared - he did come around the walkway with Edge's Les Paul and I asked him "when the new album coming out" and he just smiled - he did give out a pick to one of the security guards on the walkway right next to us though - I was considering trying to buy it off him but they were only blue Herdims which I already have.

    Also does Bono have an autocue on stage? I think so because I could see text reflected in Larry's bass drum.

    It's also interesting because I was watching this recording of AIWIY and the vid seemed to be taken quite close to where we were standing (in fact about 1/3 of the 'wooohs' in the vid would be from me -especially the higher pitched ones - my voice has actually got gruffer/deeper since that night so I must have shredded a few vocal chords )


    But I can tell you for a fact that the sound quality was nowhere as good as you see in that vid, (and it was the same for my friends) so either sound quality is highly dependent on specific placement in the pit - we were directly under one of those large speaker belts that hang down from the top of the claw.


    Or it's just that it sounds better when recorded than using your ears,

    I don't think I would give up being in the inner circle for better sound quality further out as you wouldn't be able to see all of the minutiae that make it different to watching a concert video.

    Has anyone tried taking ear plugs with them? I reckon that would be a good backup if the sound quality is poor.

  4. bono's left monitor is auto cue .... for miss sarajevo, its pieces of paper, stuck to the bridge ...
    sound is way better at back of the pit, or simply outside the catwalk .... centre at the rail, or outsides of the red zones ... amazing sound !!! inside pit .... worst sound of the entire field !!! believe me, i ve tried every spot ....
