    Stuck and Walk On

I hope you're doing ok man. Fuck that depression. You will come through the other side soon enough. Like everything, it's a transient state and never lasts forever, and I think it happens to all of us at some point.

One of the best things I've found for me personally speaking is a good bit of comedy, typically stand-up comedy or something like Vic & Bob / Monty Python. I know watching a bit of comedy is usually the last thing you might feel like when you're on a downer, but find yourself one of your favourite stand-up comedians / comediennes on YT or wherever and binge on their standup shows, especially helps if its someone you already know, like and identify with.

Music can help too as long as its the right sort. Some definitely has a knack of not helping matters much. I like to go listen to something uptempo and upbeat when I'm not doing good, or something I wouldn't ordinarily listen to that often like ABBA or Queen or something really poppy, or a good bit of Motown.

And treat yourself a bit. Go out and buy a big fuck-off sized cream cake tomorrow or whatever your guilty pleasure is. And when you've done that do it again. Buy something nice off the interweb (although don't get into the habit of spending what you don't have), but a little bit of what you fancy once in awhile really will do you the world of good.

Spend sometime outdoors if you're not already, nature and wildlife always cheer me up if I'm struggling. I know life is a fucking complex beast and everyone has their own problems of varying magnitudes. But problems, worries and depression are always temporary and you hold the power to overcome them all - the secret is you, but don't forget to lean on your family and friends, and even complete strangers on the internet if you can't lean on them. All the best to you man.

  3. BEB,

I checked your gig history. What was it like to see U2 in Buffalo in 1981? Is Uncle Sams still around? Share the details. How did it all go down? I live in Hamilton.

Yes ! Please share were all jealous wishing we could have seen U2 1981 style!
  5. I always speak to people about that magical gig of a band on the rise. The truth is that those gigs are happening right now in every city right now.

    truth.
  7. You consistently saw them on every tour as well. That's impressive. You only missed Lovetown and IE.

I have seen 8 tours in a row now.

Yep. Lovetown for obvious reasons , and i/e for the simple fact they came no where near me and I don't have the luxury of travelling I once had. Even now, while Nashville is close enough to tempt me, I'll likely do just Atlanta. I'm desperately trying to find 2 extra GA's for my kids. If I don't score them, I may regret missing Nashville.

8 tours... that puts you all the way back to Zoo TV? That's not too shabby either, my friend!
  9. Yup. I missed original JT because my mom, yes mom, wasn't having it. I was only 11. But I was into them as well.
  10. haha. I actually made my mom drive me (and bought her a ticket) to see them on October...
  11. It's crazy , they put on a hell of a good show for JT2017 I thought considering it's been 30 years ! Original 1987 JT tour was very incredible!
