  1. Any possibility the sources available could be remastered. I can't do it because:

    1.I have no clue how.

    2. I only have audacity, which if I'm honest, is pants for that kind of work.
  2. Remastering any 48 kbps source material would result in the same crap
  3. What's the difference between this FM Broadcast and what we have? Where does the better source come from?
  4. A pretty good concert, and a pretty good broadcast - I hope a decent version will surface soon. I also hope, though, that U2 will shake up the setlist for the next few shows, with some new material...

  5. Whoever recorded the U2.COM stream (or the KFM or Highveld internet broadcasts) got a 48 kbps recording at best. Whichever the bitrate they later converted it on (even 320 kbps), it comes from a 48 kbps source and therefore its quality is very small. On the other hand proper FM broadcast (through radio waves, not through the internet) can be recorded in various -high- bitrates, even in lossless if you got the right equipment. That's the difference
  6. Ahh radio recording vs Internet recording, gotcha

  7. Thats unfortunate, well hopefully someone in Africa has got a decent recording.
  8. To prevent another 100 new topics from people who think that encoding a 48 kbps to 320 kbps MP3 makes the quality better we made our own recording available on the show pages. Recorded from U2.com and now cut into pieces with proper naming, tagging and covers.
  9. Oooh Yeah, I just took a CD rip of EBTTRT,and converted it from 128kbps to 48kbps, the change in quality is dramatic, its absolutely awful.

True, but this U2.com 48 kbps stream isn't that bad, the source is pretty good that even with this bitrate it is quite good listenable.
  11. Yeah, and 48kbps aac is much better than 48kpbs mp3. Maybe comparable to 96kbps.
