  1. I got a strong feelin' that they will play Acrobat,
  2. I am hoping for Last Night on Earth (longshot, i know), but anything from the 90's will do the trick
  3. Originally posted by TheRefugee:Adam's interview with Q magazine hints at a ZooTV/Pop Mart vibe for Glastonbury. That's great news! Nice to see their gonna do something unique and un360like for the Friday night.

my excitement is reaching new levels! (and i'm not even going!)

and this almost certainly means great things for the american leg of 360!

  4. Why? That would be awesome but Edge or Bono said that it would be a greatest hits show. Maybe Adam means that the 90's will come back with Bono as The Fly and MacPhisto

  5. i really hope not
i want that one to come out, for the first and only time, at their last ever gig
  6. from what adam said i have a really strong feeling that they will ACTUALLY FINALLY play mofo.... 90's psychedelia anyone?

as i said back in 09 when it was first announced they would be playing glasto - to go back to their obscure 90's stuff is the best possible move. most non U2 fans will only be familliar with their recent stuff so will be really surprised to hear them come out with (as adam said) 90's psychedelia.

i know that if i went to see a band i associated with a certain sound (that i wasn't necessarily keen on) i would be very impressed to find out there was a whole other side to them that i didn't know about and might actually be a lot more keen on.

thats what glastonbury is about and from what adam said it would seem the band realise that which is a massive relief!

this could be U2's greatest ever moment...
  7. And he says sumthing about the crowd being on substances haha, i rekon Gone would be a good song to listen to when ur out of it( no pun intended) not that id know though
  8. dummy question: to those of you who have been at the festival before..... any chance for people without a ticket to get close enough to the area to be in ear-range?

I LOVE that era but I hope Bono doesn't try too hard to redo those characters - especially MacPhisto. It would seem a bit forced. Although they might not have always reached this goal musically, I have always felt that the band was about "moving forward." I still hope they play the 90's songs - hell, play nothing from the 80's (except Streets, of course) but the last thing we need is Bono dressing up like Elvis/Satan ...or even worse in that muscle shirt from the Popmart tour.

That sounds like hell. Standing a few miles away just to hear what the wind carries? A bar down the road watching on TV will be second best.

no not a chance - the festival site is the size of a large town with many stages and performance areas scattered all over it, with each one creating it's own noise and the whole thing is surrounded by a superfence that runs for miles around it meaning that at the closest you can get without a ticket you would still be over a mile from the main stage. you cant even really hear the sound coming from the main stage from any point inside the festival other than right in front of it.

as has been said - the best way to watch it will be on tv!
