1. I figured it was JC but for a split second I thought it was Axl...which didn't make a lot of sense. However, the red spandex threw me off. Even Chris Cornell seems to be thinking "huh?" about those things in the pic.
  2. Just picked up Yield. My journey through PJ's discography continues

  3. Good stuff

  4. Yield is a great album. Definitely my favourite beyond the first three.

I think the band really likes it (or at least many of the songs on it), too. Do The Evolution and Given to Fly are played regularly in their shows. Great songs like Faithfull, Wishlist, MFC, Brain of J, and In Hiding rarely, if ever, get omitted from any leg of a tour. All Those Yesterdays and No Way got shelved for YEARS but deservedly came out in recent years. I've even started appreciating Low Light (and little too subdued for my liking) and Push Me Pull Me (somewhat exprerimental). Only Pilate continues to be a song that I really don't like. I think it's positioning on the studio album is too early.
  5. Yeild is very good,I think its songs are great, but they werent recorded greatly..live,they sound so much better...they have so much more balls and life to them...same went for the tunes on No Code, which actually sound like demos to me.......If Yeild had that loud, clean Pearl Jam rockin' sound, like Ten and Vs..it would have been a monster...
  6. That's why it (Yield) needs a remaster!
  7. Sounds like what you want is a rerecording.
  8. Well, I doubt they'd go that far.

Best just to retrack it using, as Ed said, live tracks. Most, if not all, of the songs sound better in concert.

Fan sites are allowed to post any official shows as long as they are not for sale on Pj.com
Also looking through Pj forums you can find whole years of official boots all together.

We all know that, it is just that we usually use pearljambootlegs.org
  11. So, Olof......what do you think of Yield?
  12. Encore 09.11.05 Kitchener

    Encore 1

Ed continues his drunken ramblings about "war planes being built in Seattle" and that Seattle "is the second largest arms dealer in the world",and that we (America) sell arms to countries, and then "we take them over".Ok......anyway.He also says he now feels bad for mocking Edmonton,"home of Celine Dion" (I thought she was from Quebec ?).He then tries to pull off Soon Forget, and fails on the uke.I think its safe to say Ed is completely intoxicated at this point. He is all over the map, with his statements, and mistakes.

A really nice version of Cant Keep is played instead, and was not on the setlist.Man Of The Hour,Small Town and Daughter finish up the acoustic set.Black is its usual stunning self, great solo by Mike.Alive is powerful, and ends encore 1 on a solid note.

    Encore 2

Ed says "it might just be because Im drunk, but it feels like a small bar here."

The classic In My Tree opens.Really good loose version here.I like the slow, solo intro by Ed.Another favorite of mine,Indiffereance follows.Nice crowd participation, good soloing by Mike.

Betterman,Baba O'Riley and Yellow Ledbetter end it,with Ed laughing during the song at times.Baba is really rockin,a keeper version.Ed says ,before Baba,he mentions trying to "as sober as we can,we gonna say.. thank you",and laughs.I have to say,he's completely boxed here, and is actually slurring.I have no idea how he is still singing.

    3 1/2 Stars

This show (at least for me),is a very mixed bag.The first set has some classics,as does the encores. The band perform well. But Ed's insistence on bashing the United States,on the 4th Anniversary of 09.11 no less,is in extremely poor tatste. The fact that he actually says (during Daughter) "Dick Cheney, you can kiss my ass, forgive me if I get high,to celebrate the news when I hear you die." That just a deplorable thing to say.IMO,his statements on this date, are actually embarrassing.

Standouts : Long Road,Animal,LBC,Faithful,Habit,Cant Keep and Baba.
