I haven't even put Can't Keep in my "Ten Songs to be Played" list...it would be too much of a (pleasant) surprise. I should also include Love Boat Captain but I expect we'll hear that in Denmark.

  4. Thanks for posting, Olof.

Is this from an audience member? I don't know how people can do this - holding up their smartphone for the entire show instead of rocking out!

Night 1 opens with Long Road.
    Night 2 opens with Oceans.

    (One can hope, no?)

Well, I think it's a camera and not a smartphone Let's hope the person who shot the video has seen PJ so much that he feels he's not that "hurt" by missing the rocking out experience.

I think I'll bring my camera on Saturday and maybe film a couple of songs and take a few pics... but I'll also be rocking out.

  7. uhm don't think they'll open both shows in slow mode .. Long Road and Go for me .. Oceans opening an encore

  8. If you're going to get particular, Ronnie, fine. I'll take your suggestion.

    Don't smartphones have video cameras?

    No "bouncing" videos, Mr. Trek.
  10. The Isle of Wright Festival was a great time....the weather on thursday was insane,I wasnt there,I was in manchester, but that day it rained so hard, and so much, that the ground was saturated for the whole weekend..people drove in,not a good move for them..we took the ferry..

On friday,it didnt rain much..here and there...I wanted to see Elbow..and we did..they were fantastic..Chris scored us VIP passes, and that is the way to go...backstage they had an area called Sky Garden ..its beautiful there..dry,pillows on the floor, big screens to watch the gig, tons of booze and food...I didnt see much of TP,I was too busy chatting with so many nice Brits...

On Sat,the weather was more cold, cloudy and it rained here and there....I didnt drink much that day,as it was PJ day...Madness were a riot, and they brought me back to my college days in the mid 80s...I was able to stand on the side of the stage,on the grass during their gig..Chris said you can see us on the aired portion on tv,I havent watched..We went back to the Sky Garden, and Matt was there chatting to some fans..I said hello to him,and said I came from NYC to see the festival..he was very nice and spoke to me and Chris for a min, felt longer than that..lol...,nobody crowded him..he was walking around with a water.that was a highlight for me....

As far as PJ set..I thought it was very good, for a festival...Unthought Known as an opener didnt thrill me,and Fixer 4th ?,Rain was amazing..but then they played Supersonic 6th..and I was saying to Chris why ? Song is below average, and shouldt see the light of day again...GTF..I loved,Untitled-MFC was a shocker,Arms Aloft and Jeremy were fantastic..I didnt think Mike was really into this gig though..he was kinda..going through the motions in parts...

Got Some as the Encore 1 tune ? I dont get it...

Encore 2..Blood,Alive Yellow Led were great..and I loved that Blood was played..Eds face looked like he was going to explode..I scored a poster and it survived..lol

Sunday was the best day as far as weather..Band of Skulls really impressed me..good rocking riff tunes...

Noel was amazing...I loved his set..Get this,I saw him by the stage about an hour before he went on..I didnt say anything to him....he was about 20 feet from me..he looked a bit annoyed.. he was alone and drinking water..so I didnt want to bother him..after a few min he walked off and I looked behind me,and Nils Lofgren (E Street Band) was right there..I said hey..lol..hes very short..and he said "Oh your an American"..I chatted to him for a good 10 min..talk about a great guy,one of the crew came to rescue him from me I think, and he blew them off..saying hes good..I thought that was great,he continued to give me his full attention, as we chatted back and forth about the weekend..another huge hightlight...being able to get by the stage..about 70 feet from where the bands were..I will never top that, but you couldnt see much from there,so we went on the grass, side view ..only a few dozen people, not getting crushed was so great...

I have to say,the Brits really go wild seeing Noel...some asshole tossed a smokebomb onstage during Dont Look Back In Anger..Noel was pissed..there was alot of smoke onstage,as well as in the crowd...

The Boss ended the weekend..and what can I say..he was brilliant...

All in all,a fantastic trip, Manchester was such a great show...then the festival, because of the VIP access we had, courtesy of Chris, made the trip, hands down, one of the best music experiences I HAVE EVER HAD.....
  11. Matt, they do but are still not what you'd use if you're gonna film an entire concert.
