  1. i think the only one whom Eddie makes the scheduling for is Glen Hansard ... hehehe
    if we reason with popularity that could be true but they never made things thinking mainly to sell millions of records and filling 100.000 stands stadium, didn't they?
    lets try to see in a different way Eddie is solo the others in bands .. i guess it's easier to set a "pastime diversion" by his own than with other 2/3 guys.
    it's also hard thinking Eddie calls Stone and tells him "ok you're free, calls your little friends and think something to play with" .. even harder if he calls Matt hehehe
    since 2007 ..
    Eddie 2 records
    Stone 2 records and more or less 1 solo (not collaborations)
    Jeff 3 records (not collaborations)
    it seems the other 2 spent more time than Eddie in writing and recording for other things rather than PJ .. and i don't think they do just because Eddie tells them they can or because they're bored.
    and when Eddie thinks "ok i want to do something with PJ" the other rush like tin soldiers .. nah don't really think so
    Eddie probably hadn't any idea to do something solo before he was asking to do Into the Wild ..

    i don't think the DMB comparison fits very well ED ... i don't know much about them (just heard something not in deep) but they're DMB - Dave Matthews Band right? Pearl Jam are not EVB - Eddie Vedder Band

  5. Ron,we are both huge fans of PJ.Im sure you share my frustration here.EV has played more solo shows on the last 2 years,than gigs with PJ.Why is Vedder on the road this year ? I know his tour was cancelled,as I had tickets to 2 of his Flodida shows,in May.He should have toured like mad in 2011.But,he really didnt.I dont get it.

    My comparison is more with PJ towards U2 and Oasis.Bono and Noel never released solo material,or toured without the band.Read what Noel said about releasing solo albums.He said Oasis would put out 1 album every 7 years,if he (Noel) did solo gigs.Bono and Edge have never done solo tours,or solo records.Im well aware that Noel did a couple of solo shows in London, for the Teenage Cancer Trust,but those were one off charity gigs.

    Im listening to the 2 Manchester shows this morning,from this past summers short tour.The greatness of these 2 shows,just adds to my frustration Ron.Why not focus on Pearl Jam ?

    My complaint with EV is he bascially took over the band in 1994.The weirdness of Vitalogy was all him.The dull,demo sound of No Code,and Yeild was all him.He "deadened" the sound of Pearl Jam,after Cobain mocked them.He is the main guy since then.It was Stone and Jeffs band,but EV took the band over.I dont care what he says.Its obvious.IMO,PJs first 2 albums (10,Vs) are their best,when it was Stone and Jeffs band still.

    As far as Dave Matthews Band,you cant compare PJ and DMB.DMB are way more active than PJ.Dave does his solo acoustic tours,but it doesnt conflict from the band itself.As I mentioned,EV has done more solo shows,than gigs with PJ recently.You cant say that about Dave Matthews.IMO,that is wrong.Releasing 3 albums in the last 11 years isnt exactly alot.DMB have released 5 since 2001,and tour constantly.They played 43 gigs this past summer,which,for them isnt alot,they have slowed down,and will be doing less gigs Dave Matthews has said.DMB are playing 15 gigs on a short,Fall/Winter tour,starting 11.30.12,to support their new album.That is basically a years worth of gigs for PJ.I guess DMB just spoil us,as PJ do with all their bootlegs.

    In 2010,PJ should have been on the road bigtime.As we know,they werent.Backspacer wasnt toured proper.But,this is how it will be,so its better than nothing.

    I know when bands get older,they stop releasing alot of material.U2,Radiohead,PJ,DMB have all been around for 20 + years.They have families now,and dont need to spend all year on the road.But,when U2,Radiohead and DMB go out on tour,they tour.Not 2 weeks,like PJ do.I know Radiohead waited a year,but they are the extreme.Waiting a full year,to me,obviously didnt make any sense.But,Radiohead have done alot of shows this year.As we know,a bunch were cancelled,after the tragedy in Toronto,or they would have played more gigs this year.

    My question is,when was the last time PJ played a full,proper tour ? 2006.Thats too bad really,its disappointing.EV feels this "need" to tour solo,more so then play gigs with PJ.As I have said,why not take 2 years off,do nothing PJ related,release a solo album,and tour it.Get it out of your system,then concentrate on PJ.Release a new record,and tour it.Proper.But,PJ dont do that.Its as if they try and do 2 or 3 things at once,and nothing gets done.

    I have a feeling ,if given the choice,Matt C would stay with Soundgarden over PJ.And why wouldnt he.If Cornell tells him they will do another album in say,2years time.Why not ? King Animal is better than anything PJ have done with Matt C.Its better than anything since Yeild.IMO of course.

    PJ wont be doing anything..what..a few festivals next year ? Big deal.Are they releasing a new album ? Maybe,maybe not...great...maybe a follow up to Ole ? Thats ok...

    When PJ only played 4 gigs, on the East Coast ,after Backspacer was released,(Oct 2009)I knew they would never do a full on tour again....and they havent..and that is too bad really....

    PJs "best" 2 songs on Backspacer were solo acoustic tunes by...you guessed it.. ...EV........those 2 songs,Just Breathe and The End,could have fit nicely on Into The Wild....Let me ask,what would Backspacer have looked like whithout those 2 songs ?...IMO,it would have been a very average/good album,with a small handful of good tunes (UK,ATW,FON,Fixer),nothing great,but good tunes yes....So,PJ actually at times,does look a bit like EVB now.....just my opinion...and I do like Backspacer..alot...

  7. of course i share it .. i can't see them since 6 years and count hehe ... but you throw it all to Eddie, i to all of them .. in different proportions maybe but still all are involved in this situation for me.
    and if the master of puppets were .. Boom??? hehehe
  8. BTW,Dave Matthews Band gave $1 Million to support those effected by Hurricane Sandy.Plus,the first show of the Fall/Winter Tour 2012,11.30.12 NJ,Izod Arena,will now be a benefit gig.All proceeds (ticket sales,merchandise) will be donated to refielf efforts from the storm.

    Thats a classy move by them...

    I do....I really think it is him....Brad and or other projects dont affect the band..he does...he better watch,or Matt C is going to leave the band for Soundgarden.
