  2. No, he wasn't, he didn't sing the long notes how they're meant. But it was a great performance anyway. And in this kind of events, the "being there doing that" factor is far more important than anything else.
  3. I still think he was really good He's Eddie, and has his way of singing. He was more in key than he sometimes is.

OK,I was lucky enough to attend last nights event.As Im sure most of you watched,I have to say being there takes it to another level.Chris,my friend from England,as usual got us the tickets,and we were on the floor,20th row center..not bad at all.Also,without question,every woman in NYC,thats a 10 or better attended this show.I cant remember seeing so many gorgeous women at one gig.

    Bruce opened things up,and he was solid,but IMO, he didnt have the effect that I was expecting.Nontheless,solid as usual,but not great as I come to expect with the Boss.

    Roger Waters was amazing,I assumed he was going to just play some songs off the Wall,but then he busted out Money and Us and Them.Only problem, "some guy" sang them.Im fully aware that David Gilmour sang lead on those songs,but Roger could have easily sang Money,and then asked a guest vocalist to sing Us and Them.A missed opportunity in my book.

    EV, thank the Lord,came out for C. Numb.This song has always been a favorite of mine,and I really like how Eddie sounded.

    I was under the assumption,that Eddie was going to play a set,this didnt happen.Bit of a disappointment there.

    Slowhand was great.He showed why he still has it.I wish he could have performed longer.Nice set though.

    The Stones.....now this was the disappointment of the night.2 songs ? and gone.Why ? It seemed, 30 min was the norm (for the artists) up til the Stones ran off.And why on earth did they play You Got Me Rockin ? If you are only going to play for 10 min Mick,give... me... shelter... please !!!!! and maybe Street Fighting Man.That was weak,but hey,at least they showed up,unlike U2,who were apparently too busy to be at the biggest event in music,in the last decade.Maybe if this was a fund raiser for Haiti, Bono would have been front and center ?

    I would also like to point out, Bono and The Edge were originally slated to perform at the Concert for New York,back in Oct 2001Then,their names were removed.Til this day,there is no explanation as to why they dropped out.Im aware,of course,that the band were on tour,here in the States,at the time of the show,as I attended N1 of their historic MSG show,10.24.01.They did not have a show on the night of the Concert for NY,and they are not touring now.So,blowing off last night,as far as Im concerned,thats strike 2 Bono.

    Anyway,back to last night....IMO,and this could be biased,the Who stole the show.As some of you know,Im a big fan of them,and just saw them at MSG last week.Roger was a little sore and horse,but the band sounded great.They just took control.Pete was fired up,jumping around.The crowd just ate it up,and they went over bigtime.

    McCartney was very good.Im a huge Beatles fan,so its always fun to see Paul live.I didnt especially like the songs he chose.Helter Skelter though, was great. Let Me Roll it and 1985,not so great.The building sagged,and they did not go over.Jet and Band on the Run would have taken the house down.Blackbird I love,and hearing 2 songs off the White Album was a personal highlight for my British friend.

    I was never a big Nirvana fan.I actually like Foo Fighters alot more.Go figure.All the hype,for last nights "reunion" with Sir Paul was a letdown.Truth,I dont even know what song they played,but maybe Lithium would have been a better choice.Not one person around me knew the song,granted most werent big music fans,as Iam.

    I had a great time at the show,but most of all,the reason for this show was not overshadowed..I thought the clips between performances were very moving,and reminded all of us why we were there in the first place......

    But just like Sergio, I love ComNumb and I love Eddie Vedder's voice too.

    I think it was the best performance of the night. Water played a perfect set and then seeing Eddie absolutely nail one of my favorite songs was amazing. I'm only hoping that I can see PJ at MSG sometime in 2013!!! PLEASE. I can't take it anymore. Lol
