You think it sounds better? I don't...my advice for this kind people is...if you want to remaster something do to your own stuff or ask us before you do anything if you want to use our recordings. Or keep it to yourself the remastering stuff that you "think" is better. There was already one remaster done in the original recording so more remaster on top of it doesn't make sense.

    Alright whatever

  4. That is sick stuff over there on Dime. Can't believe that total lack of respect. A big thanks for all your great recordings! They've given a lot of enjoyment to U2 fans all over the world, an amazing thing!

Didn't know copyright existed over bootleg recordings.

You have to realize once you share it, it's public domain, it belongs to everyone, and everyone can do whatever they want with the stuff. Why? because it's not yours anymore, the moment you make available for everyone, it stops being only yours.

You talk about asking your permission for further use of the recordings, but the material is not yours, you just went to a show and taped someone else's music, and didn't even asked the band permission directly. Don't flatter yourself, don't act as if you were doing us the big favor of sharing it. You just went to a show and taped it, it's not like you found the cure for cancer.
  6. ^ uh uh, dangerous.

The other guy just LIED about the bootleg, saying it was an alternate source (false) recorded by himself (false) with a different equipment (false).

There's a word: respect. In this case it means that you respect the taper's effort to bring something to you for free, and don't try to take credit for it.

And I'm sure for some people this was a big favor, I sure remember getting very happy earlier this year when I found an excellent recording of my Coldplay concert. I'm sure some people were very happy to see this shared.

1st you're welcome for getting the recording , the original or "remaster"!!!

We do realize once we share the recording it's a public domain and it will belong to everyone and we never said the material was ours, but the recording is. There's something that you MISSED and maybe the most important, like Sergio said, the guy that shared the other version said was HIS so he LIED and this was the issue. About flattering, if it wasn't for us you wouldn't get any recording with this quality, so SHUT UP and appreciate what you get for FREE.
If you don't like this recording you can always skip and wait for U2 to release the official recording from this concert.

I'd like to add that unlike others, Nuno and Kaycee share some/many of their recordings with us instead of keeping them to themselves and only trade in those close circles (haha, I remember when Nuno got started, we also traded some stuff, but nothing in the league he is in now. He's come a long way *g. I hope you are aware how much preparation and money goes into such an equipment and actually taping a concert. Of course it's nothing compared to finding a medicine against cancer - but still he is some kind of a hero for all the non-tapers that just take recordings for granted.
The least you can do is say thank you and respect simple wishes. If you don't want to follow the wishes, at least keep the result to yourself.

In this case you certainly missed the point that the reason that caused all the bad reactions was that the "alternate source" taper obviously lied purposely so that people download his version (thatz my guess). This is what upsets me as well. If he had at least written that it's an "upgraded" version, I would have been "ok" with it, tho I would have felt a bit disappointed that he didn't show "respect" to the taper and at least asked him about it. It's kind of a netiquette you should show, even if the taper doesnt own the rights.
