  1. Did you know" Shadows & Tall trees" on Boy was a chapter in Lord of the Flies which we studied in First year in Mount Temple 1974. Bono was in 1B with me.

  4. Loads of stories, between 1st year & 6th year I saw it all gradually happen day by day! Shadows & Tall trees was the first song Bono & Edge wrote .Back then of course they were just Paul & Dave!!

  7. Edge got his first electric guitar a black fender stratocaster when we were in third year. His Dad was a Pilot & got it for him in America.Then he found out he would need an amp!! That took another three months!! At the gig they did in the 6th year common room at lunchtime they tried to charge 10 pence admission but us 6th years wouldn't pay as it was our common room too so they charged 5th years & younger instead and we got into our own room for free. The set list included Status Quo's Paper plane,Sex Pistols Anarchy in the UK, BoomtownRats Neon Heart,David Bowie's Sorrow ,the worst version of Stairway to Heaven ever & Shadows& Tall trees.
