i think the intro is disappointing but then it really gets good
  2. the more i listen to depeche mode's version of So Cruel the more i love it! <3
  3. I finally got to hear the Patti Smith's UTEOTW version. I love it. LOVE IT.
  4. Don't listen that much to them, but the covers of Wild Horses, Light my Way, Blindness, Trying and The Fly are pretty good.
  5. Can't stop listening to the UV cover at the moment - they really captured the sense of majesty that the song has. Still weird listening to a version without the riff, but a great effort either way.

Absolutely. Apart from missing the riff (they should've put it in somewhere) it's absolutely great, really capturing the bittersweet energy of the song when it's played live by U2. The intro is a bit strange, and at first I thought they really butchered it, but it's a great cover.

The lack of guitar just plays justice to the bass. Great cover.
  8. I think that "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" by Garbage is better than original this version is so deep and dramatic

Completely agree with you both. Would love it if they played it live, like they do when they whip out Shadowplay from time to time.

Now I can't be having that only joking. I think it's a little bit too cluttered for my liking (the cover), plus the original is my favourite song ever lol, but it's a top effort. Very much putting their own stamp on it, but it doesn't flow enough for me.

Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses is one of my favourite U2 songs ever, so no one could ever cover it and make it better. No one.
  11. Regarding the Killers version, and @Gerard, @Dieder and @Harry... I would agree with you IF Brandon sang the "I remember when we could" verses with a bit more energy. Those are THE verses. You can't sing them with the same tone and passion than the rest of the song, you need to give everything you ahve in those verses. I could live with the weird intro, but that verses ruin the cover for me.

garbage is the only one in this album, which make a real proposal.
the song takes an another dimension, structural and emotional !
I don't like the optimistic side of the original song, but I prefer the dark side of the lyrics...
