1. I don't think U2 had nearly as much hate for the American fans (if at all) during that period as they did towards the media and music critics. I think the number 1 reason they toured lovetown was to get to places they didn't get to on the JT tour and to just do a "mini" tour of the new album. If they included US it would've become a huge world tour and they probably didn't want to do that, especially since BB King was their backup/encore band and they couldn't be tied up for that long.

That being said, perhaps they were hesitant to tour US because everyone was basically saying "what you're doing right now has already been done here for decades and we think you're ridiculous for thinking you can do it or you're showing us something new". We all know that's not what it was about, but perhaps they didn't want to play under that kind of pressure and negativity.
  2. U2 love America ALWAYS LOL to the point where it probably annoys the Europeans, but LoveTown WAS specific to the Australia/New Zealand region, they had already gone to America and Europe and since BB was joining them and had a new single they wanted to name it and make it different from The Joshua Tree Tour. I REALLY don't buy the agruement that it was a jab at America at all.

  8. i think i am gonna join U2.com ( again) at the end of this month ...for this reason..
  9. I'd be off to London to pick my copy up myself and head back home all in just one day..... so c'mon, end this waiting and deliver
  10. I was listening to my Toronto bootleg earlier and thought it would have been cool for Space Oddity to have been mixed into Even Better Then The Real Thing

  11. I'm thinking the same. Which is really stupid since I've always said "Paying a subscription only to get the album is stupid, bla bla" but the fact is that I am actually SUPER jealous I can also make it look like a in-advance self Birthday present, just for the sake of coherence with that I've stated before...

  12. My Mom joined today too because she wants the CD and the book and not just the burnt off copy of mine...whenever I get it!
