1. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't singles usually come out like a month or two (at the latest) before the release and not like a full season before?
  2. Remember this one?

Radio station Triple M's Nui Te Koha claims that an announcement of a March 2016 arena tour to Australia is imminent within the next couple of weeks.

This is usually the case. But it is U2 here.

Invisible kind of dropped in the middle of nowhere to throw a bone for us to chew on!
  4. So I had my audition last night...

Rolled in, and the drummer set up his gear for about a half hour while I soundchecked through my board and set levels on my amp. When all was said and done, we were still waiting on the other band members, so he suggested we goof around on the intro of Streets, just to make it go as smoothly as possible when the other guys got there.

Ended up ripping through the entire song, pretty much flawless on the first time through. We were honestly both shocked!

So the other guys show up - their Bono is HILARIOUS (named John, so everyone at rehearsal jokingly calls him Johno) and a lot of fun to be around. We go through the setlist and gelled so well. Everything was just falling perfectly into place, to the point where I was even calling out random songs from behind my board and we would launch right into them. Here's the setlist we ended up playing:

Until the End of the World
    Mysterious Ways
    Stuck in a Moment
    Vertigo
Where the Streets Have No Name
    Desire
    Angel of Harlem
    Elevation

By the end of Elevation, Johno and I were playing off each other, very similar to how Bono and Edge have chemistry on stage. Smiles all around, LOT of fun was had.

Got a call about an hour later, and I'm in Gotta learn something like 35 songs over the next several weeks, as my first gig will be August 8 (coincidentally the real Edge's birthday). Can't wait to be keeping you guys posted on everything!!

Do you use Discogs to buy collectibles? I should start to buy cassettes as they're relatively cheap.
Cassettes are cool! Though I don't have anything to play mine on anymore.
  6. That's awesome, Matt! Congratulations
