1. Beatles should dominate a list like that. Period.
  2. Well, The White Album, in my opinion, is way too high. It isn't even that good an album, it's pretty shit for The Beatles standards. For a better rock double-album, I would go for either Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin or The Wall by Pink Floyd.

Nevermind, upon several listens, makes you think that it is actually over-rated. It is only that high because it basically made grunge mainstream. The second half of the album is practically filled with album fillers. Although, the first half is outstanding. I'd probably stick it in my top 100, though be it, near the bottom.
  3. The White Album is pretty inconsistent. However, it has some of the absolutely finest songs of all time.

Like Happiness Is A Warm Gun. Incredible.
  4. It has 'Helter Skelter', my favourite Beatles song and other great songs such as 'Blackbird', 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun' and 'Back In The U.S.S.R.', but the rest is pretty bad. You may get the odd alright song here and there, but even then, it's just not good.

That list has made me listen to other artists I don't take time to listen to. Like in the last few days, I've listened to Automatic for the People by R.E.M (which I loved), The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust... by David Bowie, Back in Black by AC/DC and now I'm currently listening to Black Sabbath's debut album. Hopefully after doing this, it will get me into artists like The Rolling Stones (who I think are the most over-rated band of all time) and Bruce Springsteen. We'll see.

EDIT: I've also listened to The Velvet Underground & Nico. Thought I forgot something.
  5. You gotta get into Bruce.

  6. We'll see, because I've always found his music pretty cheesy and I've never liked his voice. But that's maybe because I've never branched out enough or given him a chance.
  7. White Album could have been their best if they had cut it in half and thrown out the garbage.

Hearing that description, you must listen to him more. He tells incredible stories, and his voice is the perfect voice for that. He's the person who teaches Europe about what the U.S. is like.

Everything he's put out in the last 10 years (except for most of The Rising) has an incredibly cheesy feel to it.

    Sorry.

70's/80's Bruce is GOLDEN- nothing from that time period touches what the guy sounded like and the stories he could tell, like Olof is saying...but he hasn't done anything spectacular since '02.

I used to think the same thing. Then I listened to Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge..., and Born in the USA in their entirety, and I was blown away with how good he is. Those albums are amazing. The lesser known songs are fantastic.
  11. One song I cannot stand by him is 'Born in the U.S.A.'. Uggghh, I hate it.

Hmm... I'm going to give him a shot then. I'll line up on of his albums (probably Born to Run) then I'll listen to it sometime this week.

    Cheers guys!
