You shouldn't have to put up with someone else's actions to dictate your conceptions - as the song goes: 'Why would the tell me to please those that laugh in my face?'

And the one thing that really pisses people off like her is when you succeed and do it yourself, because they feel a slight sense of embarrassment that they put you down and didn't think you could do anything because they know best.

I've never been a fan of emoticons either. I think having a sense of humour - though it doesn't always translate well in text - works just as well.
