  5. Just to give a tiny bit of perspective of how vast the possibilities of music are... If you have seven notes and eight places to put them in there is a total number of 5,764,801 combinations. That is if my mathematics don't fail me. Keep searching for that perfect hook!
  6. No, because you rarely (if at all) use the 7 notes in a song. Unless you're Muse and you're composing Origin Of Symmetry or something.

    But then again, there's sharps and flats... And there's more than 1 octave... And there's different time signatures, and different keys (even inside the same song), etc etc.

    Music is, basically... Infinite.
  7. Yeah... I know, I just took something as an example. It's kinda fun to do maths on the possibilities in music.

    Yeah, you have dissonants, octaves, rhythms, number of notes in a melody...

    Worrying about the world running out of new melodies is stupid.

  9. It isn't that stupid. After all, insane amounts of music have been written since centuries and centuries ago - everything always is bound to remind someone of something. But that's also part of the Music greatness to me. How musical pieces can move us and cause the deepest emotions while not being that original. Ahhh it's great.
