1. That's pretty impressive and you can tell the difference for sure, but it's not as mindblowing as the universal amounts of hype suggest. I wouldn't immediately swap my N8 for an 808 just because it has a better photo detail. A better photo detail isn't 500 bucks worthy.

    Just my 0'02$.

PS. N8 is still the 3rd best after the digital camera and the 808

From what I have seen on Flickr, they seem hit and miss with the overall representation.

This for example is in my opinion, a good example:

    This isn't a good example:

This though, is a really good example:

The middle image seems dull and not how you'd perhaps imagine the scene. But overall, it does a good job. If you look in this group you'll notice certain environments where it seems to underperform, for me anyway.
  3. Where do those samples come from though. Most likely taken on pre-production firmware.

Better H8 comparison Sergio. The improvements are night and day for me.
  4. I mean, if that camera had been stuck inside a Lumia 800, I would be absolutely amazed and drooling wishing to get it. It's just that I see the 808 as the big, badass brother of the N8 instead of a completely new animal. I'm not denying it has a great camera, it's just that my current phone has a great camera as well. And, while updating to the 808 would cost me almost 500€ and wouldn't report me a big step forward in the phone features (besides the camera), not updating costs me 0€. If you know what I mean.
  5. I do. The price will drop likes stone on this thing though. I might even ditch the SLR for it. Windows Phone couldn't run this camera and whenever purview does make it to WP it will almost certainly be a watered down version. And still without decent multitasking.
  6. I hope you're right. I won't be getting it unless someone gives it for 100 bucks or so. I'm getting a Nikon P500 soon so I won't be needing anything more. N8 for the on-the-moment pic and P500 for concerts and photography dedicated events like trips and so. Win.
  7. Instagram is actually quite fun for doing stuff to photos from the phone Maybe someone else here uses it and would like to follow me at olofkarlson, I'll follow back

Well dont think it will be watered down. Nokia has all the resources to built their own driver. They can do waaaaaay more than what a normal developper can do (interop access, native code against no-interop and managed code only).

I reckon they will go with a lower resolution. A WP device would be slated for being anywhere near as thick as an 808. I'd expect WP pureviews to come in at 20mp. Nokia had license to do whatever they want became the 808 was on Symbian. We shall see though. Great tech either way. I may be tempted myself.
  10. This is brilliant:
