I've yet to decide on where the others fit. October (possibly Boy) is definitely last though.
  6. I don't get it that people rank Boy as one of U2's least interesting album
    Why is that?

  7. It's definitely not their least interesting, it's just their first so it isn't as good as some of their later work. It also doesn't help that Bono can't sing on Boy. But instrumentally it's quite good, eg. Into the Heart ( until Bono starts wailing), the great guitar/ bass work and solo on Twilight ( which is my fav song on the album, way better than I Will Follow).

Even Party Girl despite being a b-side is actually better than most of the songs on Boy.

  12. 1. Achtung Baby
-great album from start to finish...has great singles but still "gels" together very nicely

    2. The Joshua Tree
-outstanding singles (first three tracks) and Running to Stand Still is a beauty.
-Bullet The Blue Sky is an overrated studio track but great live, especially Zoo-era
-Trip Through Your Wire is one of my least favourite U2 songs

    3. Zooropa
-somewhat surprised myself that I've ranked it this high seeing that Stay is the only great stand-alone track. However, the cohesion between the tracks is excellent

    4. The Unforgettable Fire
-Bad, Pride, and TUF rival the lead Joshua Tree tracks - and Promenade is great
-people are way too hard on Elvis Presley in America

    5. War
-SBS and NYD are classics while 40 and The Drowning Man are very nice "quiet" tracks
-used to ranks this album higher but my love for the remaining six tracks has diminished over time

    6. All That You Can't Leave Behind
-first six songs are great but the second half of this album isn;t as impressive

    7. No Line On The Horizon
-a very good effort for four guys who are 30 years into their career. Still can't compete with the earlier era

    8. How To Dsimantle An Atomic Bomb
-some good singles (Vertigo) and underrated tracks (One Step Closer) but also a lot of filler. --seem to have been trying too hard to be cool here.

    9. Boy
-good first effort (I Will Follow and Out of Control are classics)
-rest of the album is okay but I only play it maybe once a year

    10. Pop
-general public is/was too hard on this album
-that being said, I rarely listen to this album
-some very interesting tracks (Mofo, Discotheque, Gone, Please, and Staring at the Sun)
-unfortunately, it includes the god-awful Playboy Mansion

    11. Rattle and Hum
    -an utter mess
-mixing studio and live tracks is a bad idea
-three of the four singles are great (I absolutely hate When Love Comes To Town)
-God Pt 2 is good but the other tracks aren't worth waiting for

    12. October
-aside from Gloria and the title track, this album is underwhelming

*If I were to include Under A Blood Red Sky, I would put it a #3. It's a classic. However, if you're looking for a live pre-Joshua Tree show, I'd also recommend the Dormund from the Unforgettable Fire tour.
