1. Lucky you! They ain't coming to Spain this time around it seems

Looking forward to listen to the album leak later today, although the scheduled release date was so nice... My birthday
  2. It's streaming on iTunes Radio. After finally remembering the username and password to my fake US account I'm listening.
  3. Yeah, been listening to it and I'm not really sure about the record yet, but it feels like a grower. That's the case with all Gaslight albums for me, so it should be good I guess.
  4. I've been getting myself into these recently. It's something I wanted to do around the release of Handwritten, but I didn't. So, with the upcoming (already available) release, I've finally gotten around to it. I have Sink or Swim and '59 Sound on rotation at the moment and I'm really liking them both. I'll probably just work through in order, but for the moment, I'll continue to enjoy these two.

Giving my first listen right now, I didn't remember who said which song could become the new Backseat but when Dark Places came in I instantly felt the same way. Thanks for the heads up on Twitter regarding next year Spanish shows, btw!

There's a lot of "the same" Gaslight sound so I don't see where's the radical change in style that Brian sort of promised, but I don't have any trouble with it either. I like them the way they are, they write and they play. Stay Vicious sounded a bit like AM (Arctic Monkeys' new album), with slower, distorted, headbanging-like rhythm. 1000 Years, Red Violins and Selected Poems are standard Gaslight sound. Underneath The Ground clicked on me although it's nothing special, I know. Helter Skeleton has a funny title and that's all it does for me. From the bonus tracks I enjoyed Mama's Boys start (totally Springsteen-ish) and Have Mercy.
Top tracks on first listen are Dark Places, Stray Paper (so sad it hurts!) and Stay Vicious.

    Grower album, for sure.
  6. These guys have got the best bonus tracks of any band on their last few albums! Songs like Have Mercy, She Loves You and Blue Dahlia are absolute crackers and would make the cut on most other bands albums. Just shows the quality of this band.

Dark Places is my fave from the new album. Great closer. Can't wait to receive my vinyl copy soon
  7. Blue Dahlia is brilliant indeed! I didn't remember it was a bonus track - it's that good

Not a problem my friend! I remembered you saying they weren't coming and figured I'd pass the word along.

My friend that I am going to see them with in a few months in Philly (which is shaping up to be almost a homecoming show - outdoors at a park that can sit up to 4000 which is pretty big for them) just picked up copies of 59 Sound and Handwritten for me on vinyl... first time i've ever purchased anything on vinyl. Very excited to get my hands on those!
  9. 4.000, wow! One of their biggest own shows to date for sure. It will be really special

  10. great performance of Get Hurt on Letterman last night, with a string section and everything.
  11. Backing vocals=Ouch
