1. For me it is a great album, but it clearly has nothing to do with the old U2. Yes, there are songs that I like more than others, but I still think it's okay.

There is only one thing that bothers me a bit, is that (as I read somewhere) they have to "force" an album to attract new fans. Worry about those you already have, which are not few. For you to understand better what I mean, this is the comparison that both bothers me; What difference would be if it would be Britney Spears, Rihanna or Coldplay instead of U2 for example?

I think I'd welcome one of their albums for free... I might become a fan if I like it
  3. Perhaps, it was a weeks ago forementioned a song called 'Summer Nights', that's video shoot in Dublin, will be included in the next album right?
  4. Or it was a false alarm and was a Kevin Walker song?
  5. Good question... I'm sure there's (a lot) more in the pipeline for us
  6. I'm hoping for 'Glastonbury', Return of the Stingray Guitar and a fully Songs of Ascent

  7. "Glastonbury" became "Volcano"
  8. oops sorry my fault

  9. Well, they have a riff in common, but it's otherwise different songs (I'd say)
  10. Very different songs. I actually prefer Glastonbury. Volcano is one song I can't get into on the album. The chorus ruins it for me. I love everything else about it but I can't get past the chorus.
  11. Reading reviews, forums posts, tweets, facebook messages etc, it's remarkable that nobody can settle on what the best or worst song is.
  12. So I'm loving it. My only gripe is still the clear disconnect between the different producers. It's grating on me a little. I like variation on an album but this feels more like clear gaps between when these songs were born rather than intentional variation in song writing and direction.

I'm undecided. What I really wanted was a full Danger Mouse album, and this might have been a possibility considering another album seems close to arrival.

The songs are all solid but as an album I find myself struggling with it. Time will tell.
