1. The question is, which recording has been submitted to radio stations? The acoustic or electric version? The acoustic version is way better to me.
  2. I guess the acoustic one, since the Australian gig is a promo for the single. Maybe even this recording will be the single ;-)
  3. I really miss the physical format...

call me oldfashioned, but I like a good cdsingle (with b-sides), especially those from U2....

  4. The acoustic bonus track is awful. Hopefully if they're going with this version, they have a better recording.
  5. The accoustic version is just awsome. U2 never done this way before. The album version is just an average to good U2 song.

This... maybe I wouldn't go as far as "awful", but the acoustic version from the bonus disc is vastly inferior to the live ones.

I'd really like for Adam and Larry to be featured on the acoustic recording to I hope they release this a new version as a single. I'd buy it.
  8. A case of too many rooms spoiling the broth. With the number of producers involved with the album I'm willing to be there are dozens of versions of this song in the vaults. I don't think the band ever got this song finished.

Perhaps it will evolve into something complete over time but it's not there yet.
  9. the edge....please plug the electric guitar! I'm already in withdrawal of your riffs!

As much as I like this song, I sort of know what you mean. The same way I understand what Bono means when he says Bad was never finished.
  11. I didn't like the first half of the EMA performance, mainly because of Bono's singing. He sounds like he's trying to hard... He used to to the same thing with MOS at the beginning of 360 Tour, and he did the same thing with 'Ordinary Love' on Oscars.

I feel that he gets really nervous in front of non-U2 audience. Which is kinda sweet.

No no no, I'm not tired of it. What you said is basically the same argument than for defending their staple, full-of-warhorses setlist: they don't play for the 10% of hardcores in the crowd, but for the 90% of casual fans, etc etc

I'm just saying that I don't like how Bono is currently using this song to show off that he still has it as a singer. I posted this a few weeks ago, just after the first performance of the song: [..]
The Jo Whiley and Australian 60 Minutes performances were in the right path, a bit more relaxed, spot on, without excessive vocal stress... But he just did it wrong again last night Judging by the twitter comments I read, the general audience was impressed with his vocals though (and most of them obviously didn't spot the mistake in the lyrics lol), so I guess it's good anyway.

What's wrong with a singer who shows he can sing...?
90% of the other artists show tits and ass instead.
