1. These are the performances that get me excited about new U2. As beautiful as some of the EBW performances have been it just feels like the bono and edge show. It sounded great in the beginning but now the "acoustic" stuff is growing boring to me. I need drum and bass and not just larry banging on a timpani at the end of a song.
  2. I've been very busy during the last couple of weeks, but I've been constantly listen to the new album over and over again on the car coming and going from my flight lessons and at home whenever I get time, and suddenly this song emerged as my favorite one.

It was hard to rank the entire album at the beginning, but then I found myself singing this song louder than the other ones, and I can say it's a great feeling when you have that perfect song that matches with that specific moment or period or energy in your life... A moment when you see some adversity comming, but you just look to it in an optimistic way and all of this just turns into learning and hapinness... And life keeps going like a California sunset
  3. We've been missing you Aidan! Glad you're enjoying the album I'm slowly getting into liking California a little bit more, it was my least favourite when I first heard it but the live version they played the other day slightly changed my mind on it Good to se it's one of your favs!!
  4. Aidan: welcome back! You may want to join the California Defense Task Force (CDTF for friends ). Together we converted a few miscarried people living in a mistake and we almost convince Sergio too!
  5. Definately good to see you back Aidan
    But don't join CDFT
  6. The CDTF is always welcoming new members.
  7. I'll give you one thing : the live version was uplifting.
But the studio version, no thanks.

    Count me in

And thanks for the words, friends!

I do miss the synthesizers on the live version, but it's my favorite new song played so far anyway.
  9. I m sure this will be a very important song during the tour
  10. I agree with you pato.

If you read the beautiful text Bono wrote to us on the album booklet, you'll see it ending with some references to this song.
  11. I want to join the CDTF too! I don't mind the intro at all and the overall feeling about this song is just so great.

I also like The Edges brief solo at the end. Everytime it kicks on I punch the air a little bit. The song could very well be performed at the very beginning of the concert, setting a nice tempo early on.
  12. Good to see CDTF getting bigger and bigger
