  1. I know for a fact The Edge doesen't have signature guitars. As for WOWY on the ZOO TV dvd, he plays with an e-bow, as opposed to infinite guitar. That could be it. I honestly dont know how diffrent they sound. Question for Jeff. Is the Tele on Vertigo the same one from The Unforgettable Fire?

    But about ZooTV, I don't mean the whiny sustained stuff (I think the E-Bow bit has been covered many times before) - I mean when he plays the actual "riff" bit, whatever effect he uses makes it sound like it comes and goes, a bit like if one were to use Wah. It's just more general interest than anything, I'm wondering if Jeff has brought anything like that up with Dallas or Edge before?

    It could be maybe a phaser or something. Maybe a bit of tremolo, or it could just be right down to the delay.

    Yeah, perhaps - but it just sounds vaguely Wah-ish to me...kind of a phaser feel, but if you slowly push a pedal back and forth on Wah and hold one or two notes, you get that "in-and-out" feel. I dunno, this could be just a random thing that I've latched onto and no one else is too worked up over lol...

    EDIT - random question; like Bono has his own signature guitar that one can purchase copies of (the Gretsch Irish Falcon), does Edge have any? I mean, I was on the Epiphone website just now and it has Slash Les Pauls, Zakk Wylde Les Pauls etc. - are there any like that, but Edge signatures?

    That isn't the LP Custom lol...but due to my lack of guitar knowledge, I'm intrigued to know what the fuck it is!




    The guitar in the picture cited appears to be his Gibson 330TD. I think it is a 1959-1961 vintage. And it is rumoured to have been another casualty of the flood.

    One thing though - I thought the flood was 2002? That pic was from 2005...?

    Lord? Nah, I just got a lot of time on my hands and fill it by reading, watching videos, and logging what is what in U2 world. Just a fun hobby.
  9. If the videos from 05 it must have survived. Random thought. Givin when it was purchased, I'd be willing to bet the blue LP he is auctioning off was purchased, as a replacement for something that bought the farm in the flood.

    Indeed, hence why I have my doubts about that rumour...
