1. Looks like the Strat "Little Steven" Van Zant plays with Springsteen nowadays. Anyone else notic its resembalance to a Strat? I'll try to get some pictures or video, of Steve, if you want.

No name, it's not really a technique, just the way he does it.

Often that will be done to mute the string or two or three above so only the note intended rings out. This is true on parts of Until The End Of The World (second verse bit). It's also present in other tunes.

Love Is Blindness being another one I had in mind, when he gets going with the solo
    And also The Fly's solo...

Anywho, cheers guys for clearing that up - I guess it should be referred to as "Edge muting" or something lol...

  3. I dont think the world is ready for a technique named after him.

Perhaps not, but then again, perhaps so...

The Retro Rocket body style is very "Strat-like".

Post a pic of Lil Steven's guitar? I might be able to figure out what make and model.
  6. If thats the case, then I thought of the perfect name, if Gibson ever gives him a signature guitar. The Edgeplorer. I found most of the video from that little unplugged gig Bono and Edge did last year, (where Wave Of Sorrow made its debut) If anyone has it I lack the footage of Angel of Harlem from this, and I'd like to know which of his acoustics The Edge is using. (they dont like like his sunburst Pete Townshend signatures he used on the last tour.)

Sorry, Edgeplorer sounds a bit cheesy lol. Just something like the Edge Les Paul Custom or something would do lol...
  8. No good pics but it can be seen pretty clearly in parts of this video. Does anyone else think that Bruce's old Tele was cooler than this one btw?

  9. After consideration, I have decided that they were probally Pete Townshend sigantures in diffrent colors. If you havent seen or heard that gig do so as soon as possible. Bono and Edge oughta do more little acoustic concerts.

    [YouTube Video]

The video is a bit blurry and moves a bit much. But at first look, Little Steven's guitar looks like a Strat. The headstock is consistent with that of a Strat. I doesn't appear to be a Fernandes.

The black acoustic that Edge is playing on "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)" [11.25.2007] appears to be one of Bono's Gibson Dove - Elvis Presley models. Wouldn't be the first time Edge has used Bono's guitars.

The acoustic Edge used on "Desire" on the same gig [11.25.2007] is one of his 2004 Gibson J-200 Pete Townshend signature series guitars.

  12. I always thought that Edge played UTEOTW and (most of the later renditions of) NYD on the white/cream LP, seems that I were wrong...

(I nabbed this pic from one of the artwork pics from the South Bend 2001 show - here to be precise)

Is this just me having another moment of ignorance or has he played a few different LPs for said songs?
