    Which means:
You know you won for sure from the Germans when they're in the bus back home...

  2. This was an improvement of 100% since the last matches. Our boys had one moment of genius on the left side and two goals from free kicks with a little help from the referee. Portugal were great fighters, especially in the midfield, and they came back twice after German defense mistakes, but the German team didn't break down. In fact, they proved to be a world class team - on eye level with Portugal. In the last minute Podolski could (should) have been scoring another goal, but obviously he was too exhausted.

After all, other than I expected, it was a great match to watch, with the lucky end on our side.

I totally agree on what you said Portugal were great, but our team faught well, too, tonight. Really more than I expected, a game of excellent quality and much tension

    There have been many...which ones?

And re. tonight, didn't I say that the teams who start out well often fall flat on their arses? Thing is, Portugal were unfortunate in that they rested key players against Switzerland and the whole team suffered; the same thing almost happened with Spain, but I think my theory might not apply to Holland because they've been full steam ahead throughout. However, I still think they may fall short...

...I have a feeling that one of Croatia or Russia is going to take the title because they are building momentum as they go - both started relatively indifferently, yet look more impressive the further they go. Same with Germany and Italy...

...either way, it's shaping up to be a great climax to a great tournament

For sure...just heard that Steve McClaren will be the new coach of FC Twente here. Surprising move...I think he's the first Englishman after Robson to manage a Dutch team here.

Indeed, I couldn't help but simultaneously laugh and feel sorry for him after I read that 90% of the fans on a survey didn't want him there - he just can't win over people after the England debacle lol...

...I fear he won't be a shining success, because he's no way near as good as Robson was as a manager...
  11. Well, I always want the Germans to lose (especially since my class at school is full of them) but I dislike the Portugese even more so I'm glad the Germans are through. Still hoping for a Germany - Holland final with Holland as winner!

Holland is gonna win this tournament, and why? Because Portugal can't take them out anymore, like they did in 2006 and 2004

well, I always want the Dutch to lose it's a natural law LOL

but truth be told -- and this is entirely unofficially, because if anyone gets to know I'll be thrown out of this country -- I see Holland as the winner in the end. Best team of the tournament, hands down.

Still hoping for a great Holland - Germany final, though
