Most folks like it. A friend of mine is a die=hard Oasis fan and he always sais Coldplay were a bunch of winers with too much of the piano. He know admits that this album is indeed a good step forward. It's a refreshing sound. I wonder what U2 will come up with, because Coldplay is definately rising.

Note: Although they will never top U2 for me...don't get me wrong
  2. Hi guys!

Has anyone got any tickets the would like to get rid of for the London gigs at O2 in December....a long shot i know but its worth a shot!

  3. So I've been listening to VLV a bit this week and yeah, it's pretty cool. I don't absolutely adore it but there are a few songs I really like. VLV is so catchy I wind up singing it for hours after I've heard it. I also really like Cemeteries of London, even though it sorta made me think it could've been in the musical 'Chess' (obscure reference, I know. Anyone?) And some of it is a little too grand for my taste. I also think the violins in Yes could've been guitars. But I am excited to go see them in Nov (still bitter about the date change *shakes fist angrily and the album is good enough to make me want to go back and learn the others better.
  4. I think the album just gets better, I love every song, right now Yes is my favorite, and I really love Death and All His Friends. album of the year until U2's new one comes out

Sorry Jake, can't agree with you: I think Accelerate by REM is better than Viva...

I think that REM's "Accelerate" and Coldplay's "Viva..." are both great records and are two of the best things I've heard all year...

...Others I'd include? "Consoler's of the Lonely" by The Raconteurs, "Here We Stand" by The Fratelli's... and going back to December of 2007... "Magic" by Bruce Springsteen.

Just way too different. It's a completely other genre of rock.

Yes for sure...somewhere in the middle. Maybe Eno taped something for them while spending his time in Morocco with U2.

I still need to get Accelerate, however I did see REM a few weeks ago. I'm having a harder time getting into the new stuff simply because it is not completely REM, with the studio/extra musicians. and the songs that i've heard from it don't really hit me. though i love michael stipe to death

and yes the album does get better and better, I'm finding that when I listen to their older stuff I just turn it off and put this one back on
  12. I'm sorry guys...this isn't gonna top X&Y and AROBTTH IMO....
