1. Any Mac users out there? Sounds like a job for GarageBand! The Edge himself recommends it! I've recorded several tracks for my wife (originals) but the vocals (myself) are atrocious! Anyone who knows what I'm talking about knows how easy it actually is....provided everything is recorded in the same tempo. Would probably be a good idea to lay down a basic track (ie acoustic) even if it gets deleted later, just for everyone to have and to play along to, and to set the temp. Does anyone have the book 'U2: The Complete Songs" Contains the music (no tab) for EVERY U2 song up until Pop. That would be a good starting point. For singers it has the melodies too. Garageband also has great amp and effect settings as well (real-time) for those of you with an electric and no money to spend on a MemoryMan echo unit I've also downloaded some plug-ins that emulate The Edge's typical echo fairly well.

Hope this contributes somehow! I've thought of this before but never posted it, so now I sound un-original. Hey, maybe we could send the final product to Principle Management !!!!

    ciao

Shit...... I wish I could afford a Mac.... If I do ever record anything, It would have a bit of hiss, and wouldn't be the best quality (my process: use my mom's cheap $200 digital camera, upload it to YT, then rip the audio lol)
  5. I just use a video camera to record myself. But eventually when I get a computer for University, I'm going to mic my amp and record with that. But this band is turning out to be pretty sweet! I won't lie, it's one of my dreams to be in a U2 tribute band.

I think its all of ours lol......... the camera that I'm using wasn't made for taking vids (it can, but poor quality sound, picture, etc.) it was made for pictures.......

I have to say, would be pretty cool
  8. Yea. I just don't know how to go about starting one. No one in my school that plays an instrument would be willing to start a U2 tribute. Most people are all about Death Metal or Harder Rock and they think U2 is "gay" which is really a piss off. I don't know how people can listen to Death Metal, it's pure crap. Just some guy screaming in a really low tone in gibberish and guitars tuned down like 3 steps. Although my friend who is amazing at guitar told me he'd play Bass if I wanted to start a U2 tribute
  9. Sometimes it's about passion though, not quality Let me know if I can help out at all! I play drums & guitar too for the record....and I call dibs on acoustic for 'Party Girl'!

    I'll bet ...

Speaking of Party Girl, what are the chords lol? I know it's only 3 or so, but I never actually got round to working it out lol!

Harry, there IS only 3 chords haha! It's Bm(but without using the high e string in the chord, you just leave it open). Then I can never figure out if its E or Em? They both sound right. Then it's just A.

    --0-----------------------
    --3-----------------2-----
    --4-----------------2-----
    --4--------2--------2----
    --2--------2--------------
    ---------------------------
    Bm------ Em------- A
Now you just have to get down the strumming pattern which is the backbone of the song, and the solo which is easy!
