    THE SWEETEST THING
And A SORT OF HOMECOMING are GREAT SONGS
    PLAYED LIVE !!!!!
i love these songs very much
Yahweh has a great lyric and sounded live way much better than the album version
The sweetes thing is great because i have a lot of memory's by this song .
my first daughter was born when the single came out !!!
and i like the beginning of the live version with first only the bass of adam ...
and then bono singing ; oohoohoooooooo/oohhoohoooooooo/the sweetest thing
and then the crowd starts to know that it's that song and start singing along with bono
before he fals in with the piano part !!!!!!!
and a sort of home coming is great because i played this song grey !!!!
i love the version of the wide awake ep the most and i love the video clip
because you can see that u2 is driving across europe in there tour bus
and you can see they drive to rotterdam (MY TOWN OF BORN !)

Absolutely. 'Making songs are like making planes; you don't get a chance to fly them until you play them live'

    Hi friend
    How are you??

I love that songs too...A Sort Of Homecoming,Zooropa,Yahweh and Sweetest Thing are amazings, beautiful and lovely songs...I love when U2 play all this songs in a show...but I'd rather the CD version than live versions of those songs cause for me I think that they have something special in the Cd,or because U2 can't play them like the they play on the CD.For exemple:Sweetest thing have piano and guitar and Edge can't play both at the same time...so this songs look like incomplete for me...A Sort Of Homecoming is other exemple:the Cd version have more drums and is faster...and I prefer it.I don't know if you understand me and this is my opinion.I respect yours and as I said I love this songs and live versions of the songs.

    See you friend!!

    That's true!!!
  11. helllo aidanformigino how are you my friend
didn't you know that bono play's the piano part on the live versions
    of the sweetest thing ???
i understand you for what you wrote about the album version .
there great to but i think they got more power live .
oke a sort of homecoming is faster on the album but that's also
for new yearsday / pride and many more .
the live version of bullit the blue sky was in the time of
the joshua tree tour also slower .
but new yearsday was in the early years until the joshua tree tour
played faster after that they slowed it down more ...
thats how i think about it

    see you

These songs sounds better on CD in my opinion, musically and emotionally:

Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
    Miracle Drug
    Discotheque
    Do You Feel Loved
If God Will Send His Angels
If You Wear That Velvet Dress
    Zooropa
    Babyface
    The First Time
Even Better Than the Real Thing
    Ultra Violet
    Hawkmoon 269
    Tomorrow

    Does anyone agree?

I would be hard-pressed to put together a better list than the original myself.
    I would add...

New York: I absolutely love the way ATYCLB's version came out, despite "ba-da-da-da-da-da" live.
All Because Of You: Inspires me on the album (Bono's INSANE vocal singing & screaming), Edge's guitar & the beat. Doesn't inspire me much live. Live you either get Edge's chords, or the lead riff, but NOT both.
