1. Pre-Achtung Prides are fine, then it get's tedious and then by the time Vertigo tour came around, 60,000 fans diminished to just 20,000 as the upper tiers jumped from them, only to be snatched by the neck by a rope.

Lol, dear me...overplayed yes, and slightly dull yes, but as a song, I can't not admit to loving it

Agreed. Actually, I can only listen to the album version now without cringing.

So in summing up, on recent form Pride's a geriatric cripple in need of a retirement home, but over generations the sun still shines out of its proverbial....have I got that right?

It's proven slightly more dynamic over the years, but hey what the hell.

A little bit harsh methinks, I think the TUF and JT performances are great, and LT was just a great tour and nothing could go wrong, but during ZooTV Bono really started struggling and it took a lot out of the song. That said, if they play it at a show where I'm present, I'm still gonna sing my feckin' heart out lol.

    Sounds about right to me...

Yes lol. There are some decentish Elevation and Vertigo performances, but after PopMart, it's definitely lost its edge (pun un-intended). Sure, Edge always delivers a rip-roaring solo but it's dull now...

The Elevation snippets and intro made Bullet interesting. Whole Lotta Love, Guns and Mark Chapman. I actually really admired how they re-modelled Bullet that tour.

True, I'll give you that actually, Bono bringing his ubertorch back on stage and his ironic rants on John Lennon do make it interesting, but I do still skip it now and then on Elevation shows . I just think BTBS needs a bit of a riff during the verses though, hence why I think ZooTV and PopMart versions were the best. The JT and LT versions were good in that they were replicas of the album version, but if you're going to start to move away from the original format, I think something needs to make it standout, and you had that during the 90s. However, when Edge is just playing a muted Wah part, it just...there's no real energy until the solo, which is near the end of the song anyway...

Point taken. Let's get them to mix it up or else they can ditch it. Will you write to Bono and Edge or shall I?
