  5. I can still only make out the ins and outs of the first clip. I think the guy puts his phone in his pocket for the last clip and the sound actually clears up lol. Beach clips are becoming a U2 tradition now it would seem

If you use headphones and play with the equalizer a little, the sound gets better. Far from being good, but you get the lyrics a little better.
  7. Finally, I was able to download and sit and listen.

So whats the verdict? Well, I actually, think this could be exciting!
I never believed the "radical change" story, out of self-protection, to avoid disappointment like I experienced in 2001 after listening to ATYCLB. But I sort of like what I hear, at least on tracks 4 and 2. Those two are atmosferic, tense, heart-feld. I want to hear them again and again! (think UF & AB)
Track 1 reminds me somehow of "If You Wear That Velvet Dress", and It only really gets exciting at the point where Edge kicks in.
Track 3 doesn't do it for me. It seems like that one is the most made up (read: over-produced) of the 4 tracks.
So 3 out of 4, thats not Bad.

By the way, does anyone have a clue as to WHY they play this stuff so loud on the EZE-beach?? Surely, they must know that, like in 2006, it is sure to be taped and put on the internet the same day...... Leaking with a purpose? I don't get it...

I definitely agree on track 4 being UF-ish. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I heard it.

Interesting how you think track three sounds the most over-produced. I'll have to listen to it again tonight.

I'm definitely on the side that believes this is leaking with a purpose--at least, if not with a purpose, with a knowledge that fans are outside. Like Yeah and others said before, great free promotion and a way to build anticipation. No harm in that.

I agree about track 1, with Edge's extensive playing, reminded me of the Kite solos from the Vertigo tour. Can't remember the rest...

You're right about that. A soaring voice, not always comfortable to listen to, I must say.

Sounds dull to get excited from some beach clips, but the same goes for me too, I must say. After listening to HTDAAB for 3 months, I already put it aside. Not bad, not extraordinary good either. This stuff makes me listen to it again and again, for some reason. Might be the anticipation though..
