    well the recording quality is so poor that it won't diminish our appreciation of the finished product, its more of a teaser.

    And he wasn't stalking, just visiting an important U2 landmark. I also doubt he made any money from it, the band themselves have said it's a non issue (according to Hot Press).

    Anyway it was really Bono's fault for blasting the new songs out of his stereo, he should have known the repurcussions.

    BTW you don't seem to like the Dutch very much either

  5. Hm... I don't see how listening to these clips can make anyone a bigger fan... I personally listened to them because I'm curious what direction the new album might take. And that's all their good for - getting an idea of that.

    First of all, Ben (that's his name, not w**ker - you might have some wrong information there) does not make money of these clips, he shared them freely on the net.
    Do you encourage bootleg sellers by listening to bootlegs?

    This is the first point one can discuss because you might have a point there. I for one see these clips just as working versions that won't ruin any listening experience but this is just my point of view, others see this in a different light.

    The album did not leak. We now have bad quality recordings of 5 tracks. Nobody knows if these tracks are finished versions or will even end up on the album. Nothing you could call an album leak.
    If you really think that these recordings are a reason to quit the band (funny enough) I wonder why they still play, since these are not the first "beach clips"...

    Personally I think you're all a disgrace, you should have just waited and respected the band.

    Personally I think, you should inform yourself about the quality and the circumstances of the recording before posting. If you still stick to your opinion after that, you should try to stay objective and avoid foul language. That just disqualifies you from any discussion.

    These recordings are way weaker than the final work! And what's wrong with hearing it before the release date? We all will buy the album, so that's not a problem!
    Besides it's Bono own fault...
    It's free publicity and we got something to talk about again!

    Indeed. I don't see how the "bigger fan" idea comes in (in fact I pretty much disagree with everything KaiserJose said) but there's not much to add - Yeah and Gerard did a pretty good job voicing the general opinion.
