  1. Rumours have been around for years about U2 playing Englands largest cultural festival.
    But nothing has ever materialised.
Organiser Michael Eavis has been quoted saying ''I'm not dealing with this U2 thing anymore, i'm tired of asking, if they want to play they come to me"

Bono has expressed his interest also.

    So my questions are

    Should it happen?
    or
    Will it happen?

  2. I've often thought about this.

To be honest, nowadays, it's the only thing that would make me try and get Glastonbury tickets.

But, can the festival cope with the surge of interest that would be spiked by U2 playing there?

And, do they need to? Muse skipped it this year in favour of selling out Wembley twice and they're still light-years behind the scale, success and majesty of U2.

I'd love to see it but not sure it will happen. And not sure I could cope with the crushing disappointment of inevitably not getting a ticket (pre-sale for Vertigo was bad enough).

Glastonbury tends to have up-and-coming just about made it bands (eg Coldplay, Radiohead {at the time they played there}, Killers) or older acts (eg Iggy, The Who) and neither of these demographics applies to U2.
  3. no chance. the're too big man.

Really Good way to put how we all percieve U2 man, any time i hear someone profess how much they hate them i remind myself of the scale and Majesty of U2 and know what they're missing.
U2 fans, we really are an original bunch.
  5. But back on topic, Radiohead played a few years back, like 2004.
I think its still possible U2 could do it.

Agreee, niceley said! I couldn't do it better myself!

  7. I agree they put on a great show this year.

    In my mind...in my mind.
  8. I think though if for next year they got U2 Radiohead and Madonna, it would easily be the biggest not to mention best Glasto ever.
