1. to be honest, I think The Joshua Tree > Sgt. Peppers.

I never did get how Sgt. Peppers is apparently so good.

I don't think its anything special, to be honest.

I cannot stand the Beatles. Sorry...The Who, Kraftwerk (who U2 got ideas from for Zooropa and Pop), Thin Lizzy...all of those bands are great - but again, tastes differ.

    Do you like the Beatles?

Album of the 90s is probably either OK Computer, Tricky's Maxinquaye or, of course, Achtung Baby. Album of the 00s so far? LCD Soundsystem, Sound Of Silver or either of The Arcade Fire's albums, Funeral or Black Mirror. Just an opinion, of course...

    Sorry, don't agree with you...
JT is definitely the album of the 80's...(Personally I like Boy better, but nevermind )
I agree on OK Computer, but don't underestimate Urban Hymns by The Verve!
And for the 00's it must be AROBTTH by Coldplay...Clocks is one of the best songs ever (It was 6th in the Dutch top 1000 ever, 'One' was 9th...)

    they're alright.

nowhere near as good as everybody makes out they are, though.

and 'The Queen is Dead' is a brilliant album, by the by...

  5. The story of Lifehouse that didn't make it's fruition on "Who's Next" so it was shelved for 20+ years?
  6. I always thought The White Album was the Beatles best, but it has that damn serial killer stigma on it.
  7. The White Album's serial killer stigma is no more to worry about than the lunatic who said that "Exit' made him kill someone. Eighties album? Actually, The Queen Is Dead is not a bad choice at all. I saw The Verve's farewell gig (right) in Wigan in 98, and the show, like Urban Hymns, was nigh on faultless. Whether or not that is due to the speed I was on at the gig is another thing... I always rather loved "Bang!" by World Party from the 90s and for this decade? Could do worse than The Sophtware Slump by Grandaddy.

  8. I said that before, Urban Hymns is after Achtung Baby the best album of the 90's

A rush of Blood better than Viva? Dude...I know Clocks and In My Place and God Put a Smile are great songs, but Viva is better IMO. Plus the song itself was their first #1, and the album is the largest selling digital download ever.
