I think I agree with you on their seeming dissatisfaction of the music. But if they wait another full year and two months to release the material they will have been working on for two and a half years--plus all this Bono-talk--I see no reason why it shouldn't be the next JT or AB. If that's the timeline, and all we get is Bomb Part II--that's not just a disappointment, but I think a cause for some real anger from fans.

They've shot material, whether it is for a videoclip or something else. A bit strange if a single comes out in early 2009. Too many speculations for me...I'll see what happens.

Depending on which way you look at it, that's bad going or pretty impressive by U2 standards I haven't checked U2.com for a while though...

i guarentee they take the cream of the crop, polish off what they chose, and release a masterpiece. Thats what the Who did with Quadrophenia in 1973......about 60 songs too lol

Im also pissed i have to wait longer...oh well

Everyone is a bit pissed but they're optimistic too. They delay because they wanna make it perfect

or because they are stuck in a moment.
  5. It clearly must be the feeling that the music just isn't good enough. If you have put together what you believe to be your absolute best album and throw comments around linking it of AB and JT the first thing you are gonna do is press it and sell it. If the music is that good why hold back?

    exactly
  8. Hard to come with a crappy album if you have must choose between 60 songs. If it is crappy afterall, they just put the wrong ones on it or the rest is even more crap.

    Some rumors are just contradictory

there are reports that they had 100 for All that you can't leave behind, the outcome wasn't that impressive

Anyway, as I mentioned before, Achtung Baby and JT are the ones to "beat" with this release. We'll see what it brings.

'We wanted to release an album that was made up of 11 or 12 singles' lol Bono you stupid little man. Thats not an album
  11. A lot of pages back I already stated that they can't make a bigger record than AB or JT. Can still be a massive album though. I'm now in the mood that almost all new material excites me (and not only bootlegs).

I can't see them bettering it but we'l not know that until 10 years after it's released so who knows
