1. Another one I just noticed, during AIWIY, after Bono sings the first chorus and Edge plays the main riff, he's got a lengthy shot of Edge playing a completely different guitar part lol...just to emphasise your point

Streets on Slane: At a certain moment you can see Bono turn to the band, with the microphone in his hand, and a second later the microphone is back in it's hold-thing and Bono's turned to the crowd again...

The bain of using footage over multiple nights.

  5. I totally agree. UTEOTW is played great at Slane but this version is more raw you know...
Bad is played really good too... Gone always pumps me up, more than the Popmart version.

For me, the Slane performance of UTEOTW is iconic, perhaps a signature version - whenever I think of said song, I think of Slane, with Bono's chuckle after Beautiful Day. I don't really like Bad from the Boston DVD that much, Bono's voice goes Sarajevo-like - love the passion, but the quality isn't there. Gone's alright, bit long though lol...

  7. yeah like in gone on the elevation dvd - in some shots edge has the black rickenbacker and others the sunburst. love his little violent guitar smashing outburst at the end of the song though!

    a couple of other thoughts:

the only thing i dislike about the quality of the mexico show is the strange hazy cloudy quality of it. why isn't it sharp like the rotterdam 4 song broadcast was (and all the other U2 official releases?!) i was really disappointed when i got the vhs... i'd taped the rotterdam thing off the tv and that was the only bit of popmart i had to watch until the vhs was released over a year later -i was expecting a nice full show of same quality!

and why the HELL didn't the R&H dvd have ANY extras on it?????!! when you consider just how much unused footage there is you'd think they could've packed it with extras or at least put a few extra songs on as extras..... i just couldn't believe when it came out that there was absolutely nothing............

I'm not keen on the Popmart Mexico looks either. Ah well. Rattle and Hums lack of any extras has always been shit. I thought the extra space on the blu-ray disc may have allowed for some extras but evidently not. It is due a deluxe version some day though

But again it's doctored. They removed the '2 Tribes' snippet from the end. Can't be the best if it's not the full unedited performance

    pity. they edited nyd too.
  12. I tried Chicago, Milan and Slane in a HD-DVD player, upscaled it looks quite nice and fast motion too.
