1. 8. Stand By Me - John Lennon

I sang this with two of my senior friends (same performance place of Bad). The words are sooooooo special to me. It's about having someone by your side.

    7. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - U2

A song for my two senior friends who taught me how to sing. They were there at that a cappellla concert of mine

I like to sing this one with my best friend when we're listening to U2 playing with Bruce Springsteen
  3. DAAHF rocks from that show!!!!
  4. 6. That's What Friends Are For - Rod Stewart

The chorus, 'keep smiling, keep shining, knowing you can always count on, for sure, thats what friends are for, through good times, and the bad, i'll be on your side forever more, thats what friends are for' was one of the first things i sang. actually, it was when i discovered i could sing. another song for those two senior girls who taught me how to sing. they chose this one, and i love it
  5. 5. Kite - U2

A song I'm becoming all too familar with, especially lately. I sang this for the two seniors after their graduation in May. Dedicated it to my teacher, who lost his son a few weeks ago. Also sang it for my best friend, his dad died tuesday.

It's one of the ones i really love.
  6. 4. Jumpin Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones

The words are me. I actually was born a few months before a hurricane. I had my baby shots the day it hit, so I nearly got caught up in one. It's all right now tho. Also the first song I learned on the guitar.
  7. avatar....nick?
  8. 3. The Fly - U2

Everybody wants to be the Fly. Everyone wants to act quirky. Everyone thinks of the dark lyrics. Wrong.

I think of this song differently. “It’s no secret that the stars are falling from the sky; it’s no secret that our world is in darkness tonight.” To me, this all means lighting your own way in a time of darkness, being a star in the sky for others to follow, and what it means to be senior. What it means to lead the way. Your senior friends are gone, you must light your own way now.

“Love, shine like a burning star, falling from the sky, tonight.” is my favorite chorus ever. It's perfectly sung on the Elevation versions, which is why i prefer those to any other version. U2 can come out with the 'perfect version', but it could never top that. It's eternal.
  9. 2. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2

First complete song I sang. Kept me as a U2 fan, developed as a singer through it. 'Nuff said.
