1. The whole world had a stake in what occurred today.

I'm hopeful this will mark the start of a greater understanding between different countries and a more respectful global community. We can only hope.

Good on America for taking a chance on who is areally an untested politician. I don't believe he is the "lesser of two evils" as Yeah puts it. I believe he has the character and fortitude to really make a difference.

I thought his speech tonight was truly inspirational. Some of those scenes were amazing.
  2. So, how long before Obama does a Blair and breaks all our hearts? I remember the hope and joy of 1997, and look where that got us. This is a massive step forward for America (and hopefully the world), don't get me wrong, I just think that we're all used to politicians' bullshit and can't take anything at face value. My fingers are crossed, but I don't think he'll make that much difference.
  3. Congrats to every Obama-fan/voter/lover around. He deserved to win. Let's hope he's good. But I wouldn't be too excited: this is just the beginning. I believe George Bush was also popular when he started. Look at what he is now.

Ok, but what about the second time he was elected? We in Europe thought: "Now Americans know that man is a joke so they won't repeat their mistakes." And what happened?

    So...this is really huge.

And I'm happy because Obama's partly my colleague...he studied Political Sciences which I'm studying at the moment.

I went to English class early in the morning and everyone's so excited about Obama being elected that we spent hour and a half discussing it.

  6. I'm glad Obama won, it's refreshing in some way. Especially after 8 years of Bush. I honestly don't know what kind of president he will be, but it's hard to be a worst president than mr. Bush.

Obama starts with two military conflicts and an economical crisis. Not the best starting point. I wish him luck, I think he has the skills to become one of the best, but that remains to be seen.
