YES WE CAN is also in a little place of happiness and hope I hope Barack does well, because he's got so many of us rooting for him
  3. Fun fact: Yesterday, as his supporters were celebrating outside the White House, someone had a hammer&sickle flag.

    Did anyone else vote McCain?

Why did you vote McCain? I would like to hear your reasons.

I do think that Obama was aided by his 'blackness' quite a bit in this election, in that it overshadowed his policies/abilities etc. Voters were swayed by his identity rather than the strength of his candidacy.

McCain being 72 didn't help the Republican efforts though.
  6. My favorite non-Obama election story drags on. Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, the 7 time convicted felon, is winning a too close to call race. He is eligible to run for senate, but cannot vote, and people are still voting for him. What is up with Alaska? The big rumor swirling today is that he will win, resign or get kicked out, and (you guessed it) Sarah Palin will run to take his spot. I am particuarly interested in this because it is marginally weirder than when my old home state, Missouri, elected a dead guy to the senate in 2000. As the great George Carlin once said, "It's a great country, but a strange culture."
  7. ...To make poverty history... We're one

I loved both speeches. I loved Obama, I loved McCain. For the first time I saw McCain as a good man, a good man who only has wrong ideas, wrong people surrounding him, but a good man after all. Nevertheless I'm fucking happy and moved and amazed and glad with the fact hat Obama eventually won. We all, and the world, is starting a new era, NOW. Indeed, this is our moment, this is our time. Because Yes, We, Can.

    AWESOME, Ali. Simply awesome.

Remember he is also just a normal human being who has to wipe off his ass after he took a shite. Seems some of us make a hero of him while he hasn't achieved anything apart from being elected to president.

I'm seriously worried about what's gonna happen to you once you realize that Obama can't walk on water...

    Hahaha! Nice one Yeah!

Your enthusiasm is understandable Sergio, but this is just the beginning. Maybe over a half year you think that Obama sucks. I hope not, but you never know. Maybe he isn't the man he pretends to be, maybe his ideas just SEEM good...I hope your right, but I won't be satisfied 'till he really achieved something.

Because, I saw through his speechs and rallys, to see a arrogant, underqualified, radical. I see the same qualitie in the way he talks, I do in videos of chrasmatic cult leaders like Jim Jones, and David Kirch.
