And the situation I described didn't just refer to accidental stuff...what about a kid/teenager who finds the gun, takes it to school, to the park, wherever and starts shooting people for the 'fun' of it...I hear lots of these stories...

The main use of guns is hunting and law enforcement.

the teenager? Daddy's fault again - though I dont really hear that many of these stories......

I'm sorry, but did you hear about the Virginia Tech massacre???
Wouldn't have happened if there had been gun control

  3. Not everyone needs a gun for those uses...not all americans go hunting, and if we're using it for hunting, the guns could be kept somewhere near the hunting place! As for law enforcement, well, then the law enforcer needs to have a gun, not every single person in the country...just the cops.

    1. Guns have many other uses including hunting, target shooting, and collecting.
    2. A car is a deadly weapon as well. If I got pissed off, and decided to kill someone, I would probally find it easir too run them over than blow there brains out.

    1. I was talking about their main use. What you mention are hobbies that use guns, then the guns can be taken out just when doing those hobbies.
    2. Anything can be a deadly weapon, my Oxford Dictionary is a deadly weapon, I could hit you in the head with it and you're dead...but what the main use? Guns > hurting, Dictionary > Learning, Cars > Transport, etc.

  5. yeah I heard of it - did you know that for every event like that one, there is one you dont hear about? Wanna know why? Because someone was able to stop it by pulling a gun on the gunman. I cant find the website right now, but not that long ago I read about a shooter at a college that didnt get very much airtime on the news. He was confronted during the shootings and guess what he did? He shot at and hit teh person several times. Moments later he was confronted again by another bystander (another student) and this time he surrendered immediatley. Why? Because the second time there was a gun pointed at him. All of the news agencies that did report on this made a hero out of the student that subdued the gunmen - but never once mentioned that it was done with a gun.

Virginia Tech was tragic, but it could easily have been prevented with more strict gun control laws - where I am in NY, to get a handgun like the one the gunman used, I would have to apply for a license, then I believe also take a safety course. Even a basic mental health evaluation could have prevented this tragedy.....

Of course they are only taken out when used for the hobbies! No gun collector would hav their collection laying around! They would be locked in a gun safe or locked in a display case.

more people die from bee stings every year than die by gunfire.

Most guns used by kids are gotten in straw purchases anyway.

Than there was that crazy guy in like Colorado, who pulled a gun in a church, who got taken down by a women who voluntered too be security. If she haden't been packing, way more people would have died. Its actually been proven, that the states with the least crime are the ones with the most relaxed gun laws. When asked why most potential perps said, that your not gonna rob a liquor store if antone in it could be packing.

We got very strict gun laws and we've got a much lower crime rate than your country as have Canada.
The U.S. problem is that you can't have different gun laws for each state - anything like that's gotta be done nationally.

  10. Personally, I find it offensive when people suggest that it was a government conspiracy as well. And of course these guys listed are going to say that it wasn't an airplane that took the towers down, since they're the ones that actually designed the building and claimed from the beginning that it would hold up if a plane crashed into it. WHOOPS.

  11. A bee stang me into my neck last summer and I think I would've felt the difference if it was worse than being shot by some gun. And by this I wanna defend bees because of our long family tradition of beekeeping. Bees are no way worse than shotguns. This example you told us is ridiculous, you have to come up with something better

Smokeing kills. Cigarettes are still legal though.
