1. Discotheque was a big hit in the 90s in Europe, do you think it still holds up today?
Perhaps Vertigo or something from HTDAAB, or Mysterious Ways/WGRYWH from AB. Or SBS.

Does anyone else think Stay is a good choice, or is it too dated/strange for today?

  2. Yes, just anything but ISHFWILF lol

When we're talking album versions, I think that Vertigo would be our safest bet.

Stay is a wonderful song, but the stupid voters won't see that. I'd stay away from most of Zooropa/Pop
  4. So we're going with above named list (the one I quoted)?
I think we have a great combination of old and new tracks

I thought the same, maybe we don't want to play it completely safe, take a risk. But Vertigo is as good a choice as any.

we need another 2000 track for U2 then, 2 from the 80s, 2 from the 90s and 2 from the 00s.
And I still think including a cult classic like Wonderwall is a no brainer... even more obvious than including the Killers.

And how can you argue with "Every Breath You Take" by the Police, is their signature song.
And we need some Americans on there, suggest Springsteen.

hmm...Vertigo is a good song, but I don't find it very U2-ish...and our set might become a bit too modern...I think it would be better to have a wider list.

Very true. It is our duty to fuck up the mainstream ! But then again, most of the voters probably never heard of anything on Zooropa.

Out of Control? That isn't too mainstream, or too "weird" (:|), so I think it wouldn't be a bad choice

I'm not the biggest fan of Vertigo, but AIWIY is a bit similar to WOWY. Perhaps Stay if we want to take a risk. But Vertigo is a safe bet, maybe SYCMIOYO how did that do in the UK?

I don't even know want album Out of Control is from

Well...I would go for Kite as closer then..it's a song the radio listeners don't know and great as closer...way better than commercial Vertigo
And Kite's in the top 10 of fan favorites

And the rest of the list seems fine to me...
