  1. So what's the bets on the tour name? Is it likely to follow the precedent set by Elevation/Vertigo and take the name of a single from the album?

    If so, looking at the titles from the Q info. I'll wager its going to be called either the Stand Up Tour or the Breathe Tour.

    Judging by the length of the album name, I think they'll use on of the singles, but since we don't know what the singles are as yet (save for Get On Your Boots, which doesn't really fit a tour name in my opinion), we can't be sure. Breathe Tour sounds a bit flimsy, as would something like the Magnificent Tour, which is a bit cheesy lol. I think the Stand Up Tour, again, doesn't have a ring to it, but is certainly possible.

    I like the idea of the Horizon Tour, but where it would necessarily fit into the whole theory, I don't know...

    Ah, of course, the 'trilogy' theory. And Horizon Tour sounds good, but does it mean anything? without the No Line in front of it? Vertigo/Elevation Tour mean something (though not much).

    Aha, I hadn't realised my inadvertent reference to the whole trilogy idea, 'cause that's not what I meant but I can see how it can misconstrued. I was more thinking in practical terms, in so far as pre-ZooTV and PopMart, the tours were all named after the albums, and then after that, because the album names were so bloody long, they had to find shorter alternatives, and maybe they're gonna keep with that idea. Of course, if you go with the idea that they're returning to the ZooTV and PopMart concept routes, maybe they'll create an entirely different name altogether? And yeah, I did have doubts about the idea of it being the Horizon Tour because of what you say, but then again a horizon doesn't necessarily change because there is no line - I'd say it's referencing to the idea of trying to look out there as far as possible, which is possibly an idea the band are hooking onto with the talk surrounding the album itself.
  6. I'm really keen to find out what they have in store for Streets next tour. It's been the high point of every tour. Graphics are sure to play a big part again. I personally wouldn't mind them going back to red. But I've had enough of the African flags.

    While I would like a return to ZooTV style touring, I don't think they going to have such a radical departure again, it will be more similar to the last two tours than any other, regardless of what they say on the album being a new AB. The album doesn't seem have that same sort of 90s media overload/ consumerism themes as Pop and AB, so it wouldn't make sense if they go down the PopMart/ZooTV road again.

    They also wouldn't do the same thing twice, essentially. New album, new concept/themes.

    Definitely agree on how the media overload wouldn't work again. It can't be lampooned in such a setting in today's culture. I think they're well past realizing they can't showcase irony in such bombastic terms anymore.

    Exactly, I think they're going for a more meditative/reflectful almost mystical theme along the lines of ATYCLB but with an AB edge.

    Eh, I don't want to judge too much before we actually hear the music (woops, too late), but that would be an interesting combination. Guess we'll find out soon.

    True but from looking at the track names/descriptions some of them eg. Crazy Tonight, Get Your Boots On are the fun, groovy tracks, while others like Magnificent, Unknown Caller, Moment of Surrender, the old version of NLOTH and Breathe seem to go for an almost epic, philosophical sound, the third person writing will also contribute to this motif.

    So we'll probably see them going down the route of how COBL/Streets etc are performed, with intimidating backdrops/screens/lighting and the use of blue, which is a colour they haven't used before, so will be interesting.
